Check list for profitable picks:
1. Is it fundamentally sound?
2. Good corporate governance?
3. Consistent profit?
4. Consistent dividend (possibly interim & final)?
5. Very close to or at 52 weeks low?

If you get a yes to all of the above, you are safer to buy than ever.
I just did for one and still searching.
It's called cherry-picking.
Happy investing.

For your information, my strategies work for me, I never post my comments here to mislead anyone, I don't know where you are taking your annoyance to. And I never posted to make anyone here lose his or her money.

As you are assuming, I never lose anything this year in stock, the percentage of my gain this year is far more than the stockbrokers commission I forgo.
You didn't need to reply that. As long as your conscience is clear the world's perception shouldn't be your worry. Come to think of it, when you were shouting Bonanza the same folks clapped for you.

When I said it some months ago that I discovered that the said village people are actually members of NSEMPA, I was not taken seriously. But here we are now with another person making a similar discovery. I will never forget how those "village people" made me exit Diamond Bank at 0.97 after successfully entering at 0.66 only for the thing to move to nearly 2.5 later.
My resolve from then on was that any stock which these "village people" bad-mouth is exactly the one I will dive into with full delta force.

Which annoyance? I have been laughing since I saw your post.

Re-read my post again, maybe if you pay more attention you will understand what I wrote, maybe. You said that forum members (aka your village people) are the ones pushing down the stocks you are invested in. That means for them to push the stock down, they will have to burn their cash in order to punish you . Na that one confuse me shaaa. What do you have that have made people so much want to punish you? Let me leave you in peace.

Meanwhile, my intention was to serve you the same douse you were dishing out here last year, when you were screaming Bonanza morning, afternoon and night. Buy one get 2 free.

I hope you have got the message now.
When you enter bus and invite someone to join you, only for him to start shouting fire fire , all the passenger will get down and run, when the discovered there is no fire, that is when they will come back, and some will not come back again.
Anyway we are all CEO of our portfolios. grin

Think I now like that you took responsibility for your action.
Know that the way you dont want others to lose money, that's same scenario that played out in this your chams...... but its surprising the ball gets to your corner and you changed tone. sad
I hope you know some lost money out of fear when shouting bonanza while to you, you were trying to see their capital preserved as well as making them maximize their gains.
CP gave you a good advice on this chams, I remembered echoing it when you jokingly mentioned me too..... that if only you can bail out before qualification date cos its 'certain' they will move the price up cos of dividend markdown.
I hope you dont let those saying 'tr.ash' mislead you. Some wouldn't see good in anything.....not even in you cos same people will crucify you when the table turns (they actually did this before).
Well, nothing to say again than 'one love bros'. grin

The word of God says So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Dear House .. We should watch out for FO as something very positive may be on the way. With the proposed sale of the Upstream, Foreign and Power Businesses, these have been presented on the 2018 FYE Balance Sheet as ASSET CLASSIED FOR SALE at N91.7Billion and there is a N31.6Billion as the corresponding LIABILITIES DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH ASSETS CLASSIFED AS HELD FOR SALE. When the Sales are concluded, these give a NET of N60Billion which will surely go higher as the Balance sheet valuation is book value and market/sale value should exceed book value. The balance of this NET of N60Billion when the portion for Non-Controlling Interests are taken out leaves a very huge balance that will be attributable to Owners of the Company. Considering Femi is selling down his stakes in FO, then this NET attributable to Owners of the Company should be paid as SPECIAL DIVIDEND from sale of Assets. So we should be looking at a very major special dividend very very soon from FO which could be the highest dividend yield NSE will see in a long long while. If these sale has been concluded within Q1, then the special dividend could be announced with the Q1 result... N7/N10 or even a higher sum as Special dividend?

I will appreciate comments from my big Ogas in the house..
