The guy is good no doubt but everything depends on Rohr
good he is deployed to the under 20 before the lazy coach used it as an excuse for messing up in WYC

Boosting our AFCON chances should take priority over anything else. If going without Chukwueze doesn't affect our chances at all then fine. But I think it does because on current form he is surely ahead of Simon Moses and Kalu.

If his form continues to surpass those 2 then why should he be left out of the team? See wahala o

Age grade football means little to the true giants of the game. I couldn't care less who won any age grade tournament, for me that's irrelevant. Identifying materials for the senior team is the ultimate objective of that tournament, in fact the ONLY objective for me.

I will pick 1 AFCON title over 100 U-20 world cups.

There is nothing wrong with u saying that but I was talking about what was best for the player.

The main reason I will give for selecting the WC over the AFCON(I personally wanted him to be at both) will be that it also keeps him grounded. Let him go through the process and be a kid one last time. There is a reason that all these great players participated at these tournaments. It was not because they were not ready for the senior team but to aid their development.

Let's imagine a hypothetical situation where Chukwueze is in red hot form from now until the end of the season getting maybe 10 goals and a few assists. Will you still think he should play the u-20's?

Honestly those are the numbers I expect. I have had a lot of time to look at the pros and cons. I mentioned here that he was good enough for the SE way back in the July but I also think we should remain calm. I think the U20s will be more about enjoying himself against his mates. It will be an important process in his development.

Only Onyekuru and Chukwueze can serve that purpose in my opinion.

Simon too cannot be an impact sub?

I understand the argument.

What is the point of youth football? To provide players for the senior team.

If a young player can already compete at senior level, there is no need playing him with the youths.

If there was no AFCON, i will support that he goes to strengthen the under 20 but senior football is more important and Samu offers something that is not currently available in the super eagles.

I understand your argument. But as it is, it looks like Rohr doesn't have plans for Chukwueze for the AFCON would you rather he misses both the AFCON and U20 WC?

EOD! These are the exact points I have been making from the word go.

I was personally not pleased seeing a 16 and 17years Osimhen and Awoniyi playing for the U23 team then. There's nothing as good as players following the development process. U cannot compare both players' game levels then to now.

Chukwueze is already a senior team player fine. But nothing wrong in him playing the U20 since he is still 19.

No assumptions. Assess the situation based on what you have on ground.

Not really... Simon offers defensive discipline and hardwork but if you want to change a game not going in your favor, he will not be my first choice.

Simon has the kind of individual ability to change games in your favor. With his pace and direct play he can open up stubborn defenses. He also has eye for goals.

Even though its highly unlikely, I still think he should still prove himself at the u-20 level. He should have no problem doing that.

However, I'm usually wary of pre-tournament form. A certain Simy comes to mind

All this hullabaloo just because of 1 goal and 1 assist against barca.

Where were the calls for Chuks to be included in the senior team before the barca match?

Fans can be overly emotional sometimes. Let us see what this guy can do at the U-20 level first. While I'm not disparaging his talent, the fact is that this guy is not Mbappe. He still has a lot to learn and the U-20 is a good point to start.

And while you guys are arguing back and forth about Chuks, remember we have a goalkeeping crisis on our hands and I'm not comfortable with any of our current keepers.

Musa and Samuel Kalu start the game. Would Simon be bringing in anything new or dynamic if things are not going our way? Onyekuru is known for scoring goals as a wide forward and Samuel gives the defenders a new challenge as a fast left footed dribbler. Simon can change the game on his good day but he will not be my first choice

Falcons friendly today..

Did you notice how the game changed when Courtney Dike and Ini Utombong came on? Two strikers that did not play at the African tournament. After the first half, it was 1:1. The two players came on and at the end of the game, it was 6:1.. Hattrick from Courtney Dike and 2 goals from Ini Utombong. Is Oparanozie still the best falcons striker??

I thought she did quit after that under 20 tournament with MVP Oshoala.

She was at the 2015 Worldcup, she played a friendly against france in 2018, she has been on & off though, I think she was more focused on her degree, she has now graduated.

The problem of that team had always been the quality of the players assembled. The Outcome of Yesterday's game tells a lot .

To be fair their call for Chukwueze to play at the AFCON didn't just start after that Barca game. This argument has been on for months now even before the AYC.

I remember Joebie asking us to suspend the argument until we first secure the U20 WC ticket. grin

Anthony Nwaekeme scores again.

This man has scored 6 goals in the last 5 games for Trabzonspor. I suggest we keep tabs on him heading into the Afcon.

Dude has always been a good player

After just 1 game for the eagles he has been written off ,especially from people on this thread

He has been judged by many after just 1 game

Getting the right suitors is what matter more..He could join Barca or Madrid tomorrow and be starting from the bench... Going to d world cup and putting in a good showing will further increase his worth and make his suitors understand how well they can utilise him...

with all fairness the guy go make many Africa countries afcon list

The question you should be asking is will kalu ,onyekuru,Simon ,musa ,will any of them be dropped ?

You don't need to be asking if he will make the afcon or not ,now drop one of those players I mentioned

People have been clamoring for Samu to be invited to SE since last year.
This guy has 7 goals and 3 assists in 29 games in his first season as a pro. So this isn't a one game thing.
He is not Mbappe but his competition in SE aren't Salah or Neymar.

Oparanozie is getting old and slow in her games . Let her play from the bench . 15mins or 20mins towards the end of the match
