DON'T GIVE UP ON NSE THE NIGERIA ECONOMY IS RECOVERING GRADUALLY FROM ICU, INVESTORS SHOULD NOT DISPOSE SHARES OF FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND COMPANIES. THE AVERAGE PROJECTION FOR PROFITABILITY SHOULD BE 2022/2023 WHEN THE US DOLLAR EXCHANGE RATES WOULD HAVE NORMALIZED TO N255 NGN - N260 NGN. BY THEN, THE DANGOTE REFINARY AND OTHER MODULAR WOULD HAVE BEEN AT PEAK OF PRODUCTION AND THE COUNTRY WOULD INVARIABLY BE A NET EXPORTER OF REFINED PRODUCTS. GRADUALLY, THE ECONOMY WILL RETURN TO THE 2014 PRE 2015 ELECTION BULL.. https://nairametrics.com/2019/04/03/nigeria-economy-is-recovering-but-too-slow-to-reduce-poverty-imf/ TWO THINGS WILL PLAY OUT, STRENGTHEN VS DEVALUATION OF THE NAIRA. AT THE PRSENT EXCHANGE BAND OF N350. - N365, IT IS DIFFICULT FOR THE STOCK MARKET TO REWARD INVEESTORS. GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATE MAGIC IS AWAITING US. NO MATTER HOW SKILFUL YOU ARE IN FA AND TA, YOU WOULD HAVE SUCCUMBED TO THE CONTRACTING NSEASI. THE GOVERNMENT IN IITS EFFORT TO REDUCE CORRUPTION,( ESPECIALLY IN THE OIL SUB SECTOR , WHERE MANY LISTED COMPANIES BENEFITED DIRECTLY DURING THE OIL SUBSIDIES SCAM OF THE LAST ADMINISTRATION) HAS SOMEHOW STIFFEN THIS CORPORATE ORGANIZATIONS OF FUNDS AND CURTAILED THEIR CORRUPT PRACTICES . YOU CAN OBSERVE THE MAGNITUDE OF PRICE CRASHES IN THE SHARE PRICES OF LISTED UPSTREAM COMPANIES FROM 2011 - 2014 AND NOW, WHEN THE US$ WAS IN BAND N156 TO N180. THE EFFECTS OF THE GOVERNMENT ACTIO IS MULTIFACTORIA SINCE OIL IS THE MAINSTAY OF NIGERIA ECONOMY, THE OIL INDUSTRY SHOULD THEREFORE ACCOUNT FOR 95% OF CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA. FROM NNPC TO THE LAST RETAILERS OF OIL PRODUCTS(THE FILLING STATIONS) OIL WAS FUELING THE ECONOMY, THE ECONOMY WAS REACTING TO THE CIRCULATING MONEY OBTAINED FROM SUBSIDIES AND BUNKERING, THE MONEY FIND ITS WAY TO THE BANKS, THE. MONEY LEAVES THE BANKS FOR NSE, FROM NSE NIGERIAN AND FOREIGN INVESTORS WERE EUPHORIC.. THIS IS THE HALLMARK OF VOODOO ECONOMY. NOW MR. INTEGRITY CRASHED THE SYSTEM, THE EQUITIES ARE NOW REFLECTING THE TRUE FAIR VALUE BASED ON THE REALITY OF THE DAY. GOVERNMENT IS BUSY TAKING THE MONEY BACK INDIRECTLY FROM ALL NSE INVESTORS. FOR A STEROID CHARGED BULL TO EMERGE, IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 3 TO 5 YEARS SINCE AL-JUBRIL SUDAN IS AGAINST THE NAIRA DEVALUATION OPTION. HE IS GRADUALLY ON THE ROAD TO STRENGTHEN THE NAIRA. IF HE SUCCEEDS, THE NIGERIA ECONOMY WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST ATTRACTIVE FROM 2022 OTHERWISE THERE WOULD BE AN ECONOMY DOOM IF HE FAIL. FOR THE TIME BEING, INVESTORS SHOULD HOLD CASH IN THEIR PORTFOLIOS, TREASURY BILL /FGN EUROBOND OR PHYSICAL GOLD @30%,EQUITIES @55%, FOREIGN CURRENCY@ 7.5%%, CRYPTO CURRENCY /ASSETS 7.5%. MIND YOU YOUR CAR IS NOT AN ASSET THE HOUSE YOU ARE LIVING(YOUR PRIVATE HOME) IS ALSO NOT AN ASSET. THEY ARE LIABILITIES WHICH TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM YOUR INCOME,COZ YOU MUST SERVICE THEM. HOWEVER, YOUR RENTAL PROPERTY IS A POTENTIAL ASSET, IF NOT THE BEST! IT RETURNS CASH BACK TO YOUR POCKET. HAPPY READING... 3 Likes 1 Share

My private home is an asset not a liability. Why ? I have an home made business that generate income..... I run a backyard broiler business that gives me income on a 6weeks cycle..... I grow simple vegetables and fruits and sell excesses to neighbours .... Income from these home based outlets is enough to service my private home mtce costs.... 5 Likes 1 Share |

I just have to mention this: Africa Prudential is excellent in customer service. Saying this based on their responsiveness to mails, I'm doing quite a number of back and forth with them and they have been getting back to me on each mail. Also, their e-dividend form submission is very easy and smooth, you just fill, scan and send to them. I'm just impressed by the way they handle customers, reason for posting this. 10 Likes 1 Share |

@godlylifeoneart welcome back and thanks for that piece. Just trying to read it slowly. That oil matter is true, one of Nigeria's main seat of corruption but then, house as a liability depends on the type you're talking about in my opinion. Building a duplex for instance, where only you and your immediate family lives is a liability in terms of maintenance but still an asset in the long run. House built and part occupied by owner and tenants can't be seen as liability nau. 2 Likes |

I have been thinking of posting this as a contribution to help newbies and possibly some experienced members of this forum. It is what we all know, but many find hard to follow. For so many reasons, becoming better at investing and trading is way beyond just adopting a plan/strategy and sticking to it. Every strategy still has some needed tweaks based on general market movements or however things turn out in one's portfolio. I have seen some oga's here talk about how they average down, and that catches my attention always, because I think they are too quick to do so. I would like to use UCAP which constitutes about 90% of my portfolio as an example. I joined the moving train early last year around 4.06NGN, and kept on averaging down after the downtrend both pre- and post- dividend payment through till around June when I ran out of funds. I know my usual entry time (which I have been doing for about 4years) to be towards end of the year, and so after I came here for TA advice from the oga's, I sold a third of my holdings when there was a bounce from 2.88NGN to 3.03NGN and re-entered at 2.70NGN. I later sold that chunk at 3.34NGN and held the cash. Now, the decision on when to re-enter is a major task. I watched this same stock drop in price from around 3NGN post dividend, but I deem it patient to allow it shed about 15-20% before I think of buying. The stock passed through 2.80NGN, but it would not have made any difference. While I am a very inexperienced learner and may be very wrong with my planned timing/price, I believe I am making a good move because patience is very key in times of general downward trends. Many large pockets do not have this virtue (patience), and so they continue to average down per 2% drop in price. Of particular mention is Zenith. I would advise that people who bought at 22NGN do not average down until a significant drop in price occurs. Profitability wise, when you buy at 21.80NGN and you buy later at 20.40, it is not averaging down because there are significant charges and all which swallow the units gain or value recovery. In summary, I want to quote @Fxuser's saying: "lower lows beget lower lows". We are all in this together, but we may yet need to be patient before averaging down or selling loss positions out of panic- it is too early to dive into many stocks (falling knives). It is easier for traders to make these decisions, at least because they rather sell on bounces than average down, but investors (who are often at the receiving end in a bear market) struggle to. N.B.: My portfolio is not heavy at all, very insignificant, and on a loss that I am not worthy of giving opinions where oga's dine, but I love to see us all happy/winning in all situations. 6 Likes |

Mcy56: What you said have made me not to buy some stocks, once i discover that certain registrars are their registrar like Cardinal,EDC,Centurion. There was a time i just sold all my stocks in one of them...Now before investing i check the registrar....this has limited my scope..its like they just frustrate you in other to keep your money...unless i am buying for short term of 3months or six month or one year....my dividend and defensive stocks have all been mandated sharp sharp by APR,FIRST,VERITAS,DATAMAX 5 Likes |
