No sir, it isn't. Delta state is in fact an Educationally Developed State. In the Literacy Ranking released in 2018, Delta state was ranked as one of the most educated states in Nigeria. Adding to that, it is also not a catchment area of ABU. At such, securing an admission as an indigene of Delta is highly competitive, especially if it is a course like Law, MBBS or Pharmacy. Only one slot is available for such competitive courses in ABU.

Yes they do. Those who graduated with lower class. Even HND graduates with 3rd class get 100 lvl

But yes, they shouldn't have given 2 people from the same state.

Probably, only one of them is actually using the state indigene.

It'll be hard for people from Zamfara, Gombe, Borno, Kebbi, Niger, Yobe, etc. to secure an admission at a university like UNN, or apply there because of the distance barrier. Zaria is closer to all these states than Nsukka, and this is why they're given the opportunity to study at the University as catchment states. Similarly, the last time I checked the catchment areas of UNN, only the south-eastern states and the south-south states were listed as catchment areas.

University of Port Harcourt have all the states as catchment area.. I think even ui is like that.

Despite this, ironically, ABU still has more students from all parts of the federation in every department than these two universities. The only exception is departments with few students who might have not even filled the available slots such as Fishrey or Zoology.
So I think their having all states of the federation as catchment area is purely theoretical rather than practical in this context.

Mechatronics is a new course in ABU though. It was introduced 3 years ago, and 180 is the cut-off mark for all courses.

Firstly, go and search the breath-taking pictures on Google. ABU is by far better than BUK in terms of academic performance. Even on the list of ranking of Nigerian universities from every source, BUK is always rated below 15th position, while ABU is always among the top 6.
