At 2-1, Messi misses a penalty to put Barca ahead again on the tie. Then Alexis misses a sitter by putting the ball on the cross bar. Torres' goal to make it 2-2 comes at the last second when the game is over etc etc.

Every fixture is different. I have seen Tottenham at their best this season and City at theirs. I know who my money is on.

Pep thought he could get a result with that team he put out. A result can be 0-0,1-1, 1-0 win. So even when he went down a goal, he did not panic he just continued to go according to plan which is why it was a gamble. Gamble like; I don't think I need my best squad to get a result here.

There’s no guarantee that he’ll win those 3 matches- whether he prioritizes them or not. It’s not as if Tottenham and Palace will roll over and let City beat them senseless; neither is the Etihad a fortress where he doesn’t lose or get dominated by visiting teams.

I’m not saying Tottenham are already through but obviously, they have a better chance at reaching the semis than city at the moment.

This right here is my issue with superficial thinkers. You have one idea and refuse to read the simple statements people are making.

Liverpool had to beat Porto as that game was home. That is where you sink your teeth. That is the game they must prioritise. If Pep was home, he would have done same. He was not. He looked at his fixtures and felt, with this line up, I still think I can get a good result. That is all he tried to do. As he lost by 1-0 did he lose points to Liverpool? No. As he lost is the tie effectively over? Only a fool will say so. His gamble did not exactly pay off but it did not entirely fail. Tottenham have lost Harry Kane yet they are chasing top 4. If Poch had a choice, he would lose Son not Harry. If you want to talk about Pep failing or losing, why don't you wait till that actually happens. LOL
