They are not kuku using the land, I have been wondering over the years why such a massive expanse of land will be left with nothing to use it for. Let me go and collect my share of the 2.8billion |

bettercreature: What are you saying? You should be thanking Oba Aderemi as a visionary leader. What is Ile-Ife without OAU? Can the indigenes survive without OAU? Without OAU, Ile-ife will be a ghost town with brown roofs all over. 2 Likes |

baby124: And who told you that there are structures on the land they sold? Have you ever been to some big universities and seen the sheer expanse of land that these universities own? There are universities you will go to and see hectares and hectares of land surrounding the school and owned by the school yet no structures erected on them. |
Re: Speculators Sell OAU Ife Land For N2.8 Billion by baby124: 3:02pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
Skelewu:Is it not within the vicinity of the school? So what if there are unused hectares of land? That is how schools are, they have space for possible expansion in future. It’s not every available space you see that you sell. Fact remains the school owns the land and that land is within its vicinity where it has structures. |

baby124: True. I was just trying to assert that the land they sold might be several kilometres away from where the school's main structures are concentrated. Perhaps the natives have decided that OAU owns way too much land than they are able to use presently or even in the future. So why not grab some and sell. It's an effort in futility though as the land is federal government property and so the natives have no rights over it. I only pity those alleged to have bought the land from the natives. Their money is gone. |

GambaOsaka: Hello sir, Ile Ife is big and we have other means of surviving. For your information, OAU has about 80% of the academic staff from Ekiti and Ondo people. Ife Indigines who are lecturers or academic staffs are not up to 100. For non academic staffs, it is mostly dominated by Modakeke, Ipetumodu and Edunabon people... They work as the cracker, portal, security etc. Oba Aderemi is a great man with a great vision. If you have seen the space OAU occupied in ile Ife you will be marvelled at how they came about it. It is like they divided Ile Ife land space into two equal half and one half is allocated to OAU. The challenge from this land space is security. It serve as hide out for thiefs.... From Ede road to Ipetumodu junction is just bushy and not safe. Also, the OAU management is messing up in the road construction within the town linking the university gates... From road 7 to sabo junction, Igboya/Irebami road to OAU/OAUTHC and also from senior staff quarters to Abaiyagani Opa Area... All this listed roads are not approved from OAU for a better construction because of reasons best known to them. The OAU water Dam is not serving ile Ife people, the electricity distribution to OAU is different to that of Ife town. They(OAU) have their own market and not using IFE town market. The only contact/impact OAU is having on IFE town is in transportation. What is advantage of OAU to Ife town? If IFE people should rise to ask questions, then the world people will say IFE people have started again... But OAU management are not making sense. 1 Like |

youngsahito: I don't think they will ever revisit that masterplan, if OAU sold the some of the said land for ₦2.8billion and use the money judiciously, its ASUU will not be part of others waiting for FG to give them money |
