From my last thread about how i took a girl out on a date with just 2k.
Let me background this with some facts in view.
When i said i dont spend money on mundane things, it means that...sometimes i dont get pple with the way they spend money on frivolities.
1. For instance birthday celebration is a complete garbage to me, i mean if u re beyond 18, and thats cus you can excuse kids for being stupid. Life is tough and we have to acknowlegde that fact.
2. Having more than 2 kids is bullshìt cuz i feel with 2kids u can give them the best life they should exp with d limited resources "you" have. Imagine if this country had like 30m instead 200m population.
3. Expensive Wedding.. Oh my gosh, complete arrant nonsense, why not divert it to biz or sth.
Those things i highlighted up there to me are complete mundane things i do not or wish to spend money on. But then if you have extra large cash then no biggie but they re still bullshìt.
Then what re things i spend money on... i love to spend money on things that will gives me a new level of experience, for instance, one time i wanted to travel, i could have boarded a bus but then i decided that i would take a flight instead. So that means i would have to cut back on some mundane things i spend money on. Like clothes, foods, alms giving and all that so save twice or thrice the intended amount.
Ok right now i need a new laptop, i could have gotten a good HP with nice RAM and processor speed but i want to get a Macbook instead almost 2x the price so that means i have to be more sagacious with my spendings...Grab?
Now on the issue of that date, seriously its not really about saving money or sth, but its about common sense, its a date for crying out loud. Its to share moments, talk about unserious things, after having a very busy week. Its not a job/business interview where you proof a point and get a mark or a nod of approval, its to unwind and being in the moment. Two adults who understand this would make things simple for eachother.
But then if u re on a date to proof a point, or seeking for something which your future/life depends on, then maybe you can go all serious trying to catch all the fallen cups just to appear like a perfect guy.
So with this few reasons of mine, I still maintain my stand, 2k date is the cool date. Anything beyond that is pure garbage. Either you have the money or not.
I am not averse to the fact that you can treat yourself to some nice and expensive things onces in a while, but then i understand the greedy nature of humans, someone asks you out on a date and you want to use that opportunity to the fullest. But i feel if u can afford those things, then you wouldnt feel the need to want to use the opportunity to fill up your glut stomach or whatever it is. Thank you.

While I was serving (Command Secondary School, Abakaliki barracks), I Never spend more than 12K per month, thus enabling me to save at least 13k every month Cox my PPA pays 5K monthly, Guess U All know how that automatically amounts to at the end of the service year which ended last year October. All Baracks corpers reside in the Barracks corpers' Lodge.
After my 1st few months, I realised that even b4 the 15th of the new month, Guys av started complaining bitterly about how broke they are. So out of Eagerness to find out what is happening to them Coz Na my Lane I dey always follow due to my Natural Introvert Nature, I decided to look into how they spend. Lo and Behold, I was able to detect that MOST OF THESE GUYS ARE WRECKLESS SPENDERS WITH NO SPECIFIC FOCUS OR PLAN FOR LIFE AFTER SERVICE, thus they feel relaxed that at least, another one is surely coming after the end of the month. If not for the Double Allawee that was paid some days to our POP, I doubt Wetin some of them go take enter bus go their village. Surely it's people like THEM that spends to Impress on Dates...
So Mr OP, I sight U jare.. In as much as u've got a target u intend meeting within a timeframe, Trust Me bro, U're Good to Go. Just make sure U take to my correction that It's very wrong of U to call HER a Glutton. She didn't do anything uncool...

[b]From the first post, this guy and the lady work in the same company, so they might be comfortable with each other already and even know each other's income. So, just going out for just soft drinks on low budget and the lady paying shouldn't be a big deal. I remember during my studies yrs in UK, I met one Naija politician daughter and we became very close. Every time we went for lunch, she always insisted on splitting the bills. This doesn't mean she won't still invite me for dinner at her place or asking me to loan her money when she is broke. So, I don't know the big deal in a lady paying for what she eats.
On spending, our ideologies and priorities in life are different even with the same resources. No one is better, it's personal. I knew a man that owns companies and estates both in Naija and US, yet this man will be pricing Garri. After having a good bargain, he will say, it's only poor Man that losses money anyhow... Not to disrespect some comment I have read here so far, the reason why it seems that the rich are getting richer is that they don't care if you are impressed or not, they only care about their personal satisfaction and comfort, but the poor spends the money they don't av to buy the thinks they don't need to impress the people they actually don't know. I agree with oop 100% its only we the Africans that attached so much importance to Frivolity, a white chick can never allow u pay 100% of the bill especially if u on a date, as an economist before I spend a penny, I calculate if it is important or avoidable, not to brag but my colleagues in the office wonder how I can afford the kind of car I drive with the salary they all pay us, why couldn't I? My colleagues eats in fancy restaurants, and , collects any thing they brings to the office on credit and thy ends up paying 3 times the actual prize, I cook my food and I don't buy anything on pressure, I go to the market and buy my stuff wen it is absolutely necessary, in conclusion being meticulous with spending ain't stinginess any girl that can't stay within my budget don't share my dreams, it's as simple as that.  4 Likes |

From my last thread about how i took a girl out on a date with just 2k.
Let me background this with some facts in view.
When i said i dont spend money on mundane things, it means that...sometimes i dont get pple with the way they spend money on frivolities.
1. For instance birthday celebration is a complete garbage to me, i mean if u re beyond 18, and thats cus you can excuse kids for being stupid. Life is tough and we have to acknowlegde that fact.
2. Having more than 2 kids is bullshìt cuz i feel with 2kids u can give them the best life they should exp with d limited resources "you" have. Imagine if this country had like 30m instead 200m population.
3. Expensive Wedding.. Oh my gosh, complete arrant nonsense, why not divert it to biz or sth.
Those things i highlighted up there to me are complete mundane things i do not or wish to spend money on. But then if you have extra large cash then no biggie but they re still bullshìt.
Then what re things i spend money on... i love to spend money on things that will gives me a new level of experience, for instance, one time i wanted to travel, i could have boarded a bus but then i decided that i would take a flight instead. So that means i would have to cut back on some mundane things i spend money on. Like clothes, foods, alms giving and all that so save twice or thrice the intended amount.
Ok right now i need a new laptop, i could have gotten a good HP with nice RAM and processor speed but i want to get a Macbook instead almost 2x the price so that means i have to be more sagacious with my spendings...Grab?
Now on the issue of that date, seriously its not really about saving money or sth, but its about common sense, its a date for crying out loud. Its to share moments, talk about unserious things, after having a very busy week. Its not a job/business interview where you proof a point and get a mark or a nod of approval, its to unwind and being in the moment. Two adults who understand this would make things simple for eachother.
But then if u re on a date to proof a point, or seeking for something which your future/life depends on, then maybe you can go all serious trying to catch all the fallen cups just to appear like a perfect guy.
So with this few reasons of mine, I still maintain my stand, 2k date is the cool date. Anything beyond that is pure garbage. Either you have the money or not.
I am not averse to the fact that you can treat yourself to some nice and expensive things onces in a while, but then i understand the greedy nature of humans, someone asks you out on a date and you want to use that opportunity to the fullest. But i feel if u can afford those things, then you wouldnt feel the need to want to use the opportunity to fill up your glut stomach or whatever it is. Thank you.
@Jayneek i made this thread in response to your thread trying to school me on how to go on a date. I dont need your noob dating skills. Been going on a date since 2011, so i am well experienced in that field and ive got it covered. Poverty Mentality, and its also cos of the kinda people you associate with. My advice? Change your circle. The people around you. And PS: if you want a 2k date, get a 2k babe......and then dont feel bad when you get schooled by the babe!! 1 Like |

All can bash the OP cus they percieve in their mind that he is poor. Had it been it was Dangote or Peter Obi that said this, thier reaction wud have been diff. One time i watched a video clip in 2017 where Warren Buffet said crypto is a bad investment and that he sold all his tokens back to dollars when he invested 300usd in crypto and within 2hrs it dipped to 280usd. I really found it funny and laffed. But if it had been a random school boy who told me that, i would have given him a punch on the face and make him know how pathetic he is.
