I am officially bowing out of the admission process for fall 2019 cheesy grin, what a process. I accepted an offer earlier this week.

Let me introduce myself as I have been most active on GRE thread but I have been coming to this thread daily for close to a year.

Undergrad: Statistics, CGPA:4.07/5, unofficial WES evaluation:3.47/4
I decided to apply for admission just in December. I wrote my GRE in February and prepared for less than two months: 161Q,153V, 3.0AW. Most of the requirement for the schools were met in the third week of February because of GRE but I submitted my applications before then. The admission decisions so far

Villanova University: Admitted but awaiting funding
Bowling Green State University: Admitted but awaiting funding
University of iowa: Rejected
Georgia State University: Admitted with GA which has full tuition waiver and some stipends
George Washington University: Pending
Michigan Technological University: Admitted without funding
American University: Admitted with some funding but was not sufficient

I was using style to wait for GWU but I have finally gone for GSU as it was the best offer so far coupled with the course: Master's of Mathematics with concentration in Biostatistics.

Great work everyone has been doing on this thread, God bless you. I will be starting the preparation for my interview soon and I understand I have to read previous parts, at least as much as I can. I would really appreciate your help throughout the process when I eventually come up with my proposed transcript. Thank you all and keep up the good works.

Fall. 2019, yes we can

Congrats!!! I am cheering for you on here. Your bravery and determination paid off.

Good day All.. I started visiting this thread around May last year. It was after ETSU rejected me. I had no GRE or Toefl. I didn't know how to write good SOP. I decided to shoot for fall 2019. I was confused about schools to apply to. I was always asking about different schools and all. I realized I would have to do GRE. I prepared for it. Did it and Toefl also. Did WES evaluation as well. When i ask anyone about funding for my course, they tell me it's rare cause people are willing to pay for any computer science or IT related field because of the return on investment after.

I applied to Tamuc, got admitted but no funding, applied to UALR, Uni of Bridgeport, Bowie state uni, FIU, UM-flint, even tried some free applications school like Georgia southern, Uni of new haven, got admission to some but no funding and still waiting for decision from others, then I didn't apply to any school again, was thinking of going with Tamuc like that till i found out about Apsu in February, i decided to apply and within a short time, say 2 weeks, i was admitted, then the wait started for funding. I sent emails upon emails asking about their funding decision, made calls, all they kept saying was they had not decided yet, then the good news came, Apsu gave me GA funding with stipends. I was overjoyed because I almost gave up. I am grateful to this thread, everyone who has answered my questions at one time or the other and i learnt a lot here also.

Would be going for my visa interview soon. I am hoping for the best.

Cgpa = 3.74/5. Graduated 2015. Still in my early 20s..
Wes evaluated to = 3.25/4
GRE = 296, 4
Toefl = 95

Going for Masters in computer science and quantitative methods, with concentration in predictive analytics.

Thanks Family!

Great, your determination paid off.

Hello Nairaland Family, I have a huge passion in studying in the U.S but financially I'm not okay and it's driving me crazy, I have make researches day and night if there are opportunities or possibly loan i could get and payback. I'm not lazy i would pay back in time but none gave without a cosigner.

The biggest problem I'm having right now is that, It's only me that have interest in this my parent doesn't seems to care about my passion towards this because they believe they don't have the millions and not ready to support my passion

I'm set to take the SAT I've been studying for the exam for the past 4months now but haven't seen any opportunity to register due to financial incapability...

Pls can anyone generous register me for the SAT...I know I might not have anything to reward the person but the God of Favour will favour the person in returns....
I strongly believe, I'll pass the exam with a great grade and qualify for scholarship...

While soliciting for help on here, please do not shove aside the possibility of schooling in Nigeria. I would say make both options A.

Just ensure your statement has enough to cover your cost and you can put it in words if asked about how you intend paying for the program. You can say something like "My dad would be responsible for my education and I also have a confirmation from the university to fund me upon resuming as contained in this letter and pass same across to him."

Hello, mathematics is my strong point so I didn't practice the Quantitative aspect rigorously, I focused more on the verbal aspect. In all, I watched all magoosh videos, used magoosh and Manhattan online practice tests severally, wrote the two free power prep practice tests, used kaplan for AW, read the Manhattan books. You can also check my posts, I gave a full account of my GRE experience on the GRE thread. Goodluck to you.

My point is at least been intelligent with lying. I prefer people not to lie, it makes life easy but the truth is there are people who are out to defraud but don't insult our intelligence with an unintelligible lie like politicians will do.
And the point was made more in jest than anything. And I am not one of our people.

Mr Albert Einstein , Most Intelligent.

What is the lie in everything I've said... Oh I said my parents cannot afford millions to sponsor my education in the states that's without funding ...Oh fine accepted.... He then asked if I'm not offered full ride scholarship after the help was rendered , there's this probability that I can be offer full tuition scholarship who will pay for the rest i said my Dad ... Fine accepted And living cost ain't money you gat to pay once, you can even work to support ur sponsor.....

I don't get what u trying to insinuate now....

Nigerians and their ways of attacking without adequate analysis of the situation.

How many rejections you see here wey want carry you go Ivory Coast? Abi are you just using that as an excuse?

My bro, no need to fear. If you do the right things (write tests, get a good school, get a good financing plan and prepare for the interviews), you will get your visa. Changing your location won't help. Instead, save the money for your flight ticket.
