Does anyone know how fair ABU is with their admission into Dentistry?
Forget ABU if you are not from ELDS or Catchment areas. My two cents.

It's almost impossible that udusok would deny u admission into mbbs with such high score.

I'm in 100lvl, mbbs here and I have many classmates from down south; Most of them from south west and a couple of them from other parts of south.

Replicate ur last year's performance and just pray. That's all

First, I want to apologize for replying late.

Yes, it is a difficult book for beginners, I must confess...
But it's be best and most concised Anatomy textbook, in my opinion.

Yes, Chief you can achieve that...
The best way to study last anatomy is repetitions, that's what worked for me. Read it as many times as possible, and distinction would not be a problem...
There's nothing in anatomy that's not in last anatomy, so you might not be needing anyother text, save for atlas and Cunningham manuals... But if you want to combine, gray's anatomy for student is very good too.
Good luck

Thanks boss.. I really appreciate

I don't know the actual quota for those courses. It seems they just do it the way they like. MBBS and BDS quota can easily be checked on the MDCN website.

Help me with the sitd address

Over the past fours years, I've been a strong admirer and a follower of this thread..

Here, I met a lot of personalities whom their words had been a source of encouragement in my staunch pursuit for a place in the Medical school.

The founding fathers of this thread in Lagusta, Josh, Ashashacash, DrHesjay and a host of others with their constant contributions deserve mentions.

Bobola07, Historian, and many of whom I met on Ibadan's thread deserve mentions also. If I drop my former monicker, I believe many of you would accede with me that its been a long way coming.

I gained admission into a course I had never wanted but chose to accept it on the virtues of family pressure and the fear of being left behind by my friends but It was a decision I've cultivated ambivalent feelings about. I became a shadow of my old self, my results were nothing to write home about in my second year; I had many carry overs and this was as a result of jamb exam coupled with hatred for the path I've chosen, though I'll be done this year; my recovery was just God's grace.

But to cut the long story short, I've just been admitted into Medicine and Surgery by the University of Benin making me a full blown member of this thread and I dedicate this success to God and every member of this thread, Thanks and God bless you all.

Egghead if you come across this, what aggregate exactly, did you use to get into unibens MBBS

As for University of Ibadan, I haven't seen any school in the whole of this country that is as transparent as her...I tell you this in all sincerity. If you got what it takes, face UI. If you merit it, University of Ibadan would admit you without any issues.

University of Ilorin, if you are a Muslim and from Ilorin... Please go ahead.

Ebonyi state University, I know nothing about the school or her processes

OOU, do you have huge amount of cash to spend, studying Medicine at Ago Iwoye doesn’t come easy without enough financial backup

LASU, if you're not a lagosian and do not have a long leg, please, stay away. I know someone who had 324 in the UTME last year, Chosen LASU, if only LASU would offer him admission tomorrow.

My 1cent Bruv!

Please, I want you to have all your evidence before putting it on table that once you are a Muslim, you are admitted.

I'm now writing about Medicine and Surgery in Unilorin, most classes have many Christians compare to Muslims. Do the survey yourself and apply it to many departments like that in Unilorin.

All these Arguments people like you bring up has no basis. Unilorin admits more Christians

Charley pls from ur posts,i discovered that you used last anatomy and still had a blazing distinction. Please how did you do it.. Help ur son because our school recommended last as the standard testbook for anatomy which means exams questions will come from it.. But that book is very hard to read... Please tell me how u did it.

I would love it if I had a D in anatomy

Forget all these Last-is-too-conc sentiments. There's nothing conc about that text. The only disadvantage about it is lack of good illustrations.

Let me share my approach with you: I was flexible. I knew the texts that had the approach I preferred in a given region. For example, I used Keith Moore for Upper, Thorax, Head and Neck, Last's for Lower, Pelvis and Perineum... Keith Moore for Abdomen too.

Your school may have recommended Last's but I'm of the opinion that Anatomy is Anatomy, as far as you are using a standard textbook....and are following your lectures closely.

Good luck.

You're completely right. Anatomy is Anatomy insofar as the students are serious. A certain medical school recommended Last's, but the medical students there tend to do well with Charausia. Actually, not all the lecturers like Last's. As for me, i prefer Charausia to Last's, and if there's time, i'll glance through Keith Moore.

I was in dentistry there before. UNN also accepts 2.2 in any basic medical or biological science course for Medicine too. However, the candidate has to score up to 320 or above in its post-DE (similar to post-utme). Even if you graduated with 2.1 and scored low in its post-DE, while a 2.2 degree holder scored high, UNN will offer admission to the 2.2 degree holder first.
