gurus in the house, kindly assist:
my passport bears an additional middle name not on my certificates or transcript. will a sworn "same person" affidavit suffice when submitting both documents for the admission and visa processes?

many thanks.
Definitely. It will suffice.

It's well, May the good Lord guide and bless each and every one of us.

Shalom.

Apt. Well said Egbon.
I must confess things have changed kinda. When I started following the thread from the very first part as a guest reader; not just transcripts, admission and visa issues were discussed about. Those who were there gave us first hand experiences about life, study and hustle. Newbies didn't get annoyed when they asked basic questions and they were told to read up (despite the fact that there wasn't much information as compared to now).
I read parts 1,2,3,4 and lots of part 5 as a guest until I had to create this account.

I think the reason why things are shaping up like this is because there are quite a large number of aspirants now, compared to then.

But then, as my popman will say
Ti a ba duro giga, o jẹ nitori a duro lori ẹhin awọn ti o wa niwaju wa.

If we stand tall it is because we stand on the backs of those who came before us

We rise by helping others.

Good morning fam.

You can Put your documents inside one envelope. Just make sure it's properly stapled so that documents for application A won't get mixed with Application B.

A good number of peeps here are only interested in what concerns them at the moment. Many have blatantly refused to read, thereby asking questions repeatedly and demanding an answer immediately as if people here are under obligation to answer them. Some have sent numerous pm to almost every one present because they want answers for their own personal consumption only.

Shalom.

I started this journey last year but I wasn't serious enough with it so I missed the winter window. It wasn't funny then because summer seemed so far away but I decided to enroll in a German Language Institute in my city, Benin.

Fast forward to summer... I got my admitted into the MSc Biological Resources program, Hochschule Rhine-Waal on the 10th of January. I had applied via Uniassist. I studied Biochemistry. I was able to book interview for the 8th of March by past some minutes past 12am of 11th January. Soon after, University of Kassel admitted me into their MSc Nanoscience program but with an earlier deadline and provision to defer to winter (which I eventually did just in case I decide to change from Rhine-Waal).

Two weeks after that, I got a mail rescheduling my appointment for the 18th of March. I was bewildered because I never cancelled nor did I try booking again. After writing to them, all I was told was "The Consulate will be closed on the 8th of March". At this point, I started sweating internally. I wrote to them to rebook me several times but to no avail. Meanwhile, Rhine-Waal doesn't grant enrolment extension and Kassel couldn't extend past April 11th.

On the 8th of February, a friend woke me up for Hallelujah Challenge by 12:23am. Something in my spirit made me check the appointment booking system despite it being quite late (as I expected the dates to have been taken up by then). Lo and and behold, I saw March 4th and 12th. I became confused about cancelling the 18th to book the 4th because I didn't know how long it would take their database to refresh and free up my passport number so I decided to risk using my old passport number. Successfully booked though it didn't feel like mine because I didn't know how to explain to Oga Paulinus.

I stayed awake for many nights after that but found only April dates. I gave up after a while and with advice from a couple of very helpful folk here, I cancelled the 18th and gathered confidence to show up at the embassy. I was the first student that day. Went with my current and expired passports. Oga Paulinus didn't ask me anything about the passport number. I was ushered to very nice dark-skinned lady in Room 3. That day happened to be her birthday (I listened to their conversations in Deutsch). The interview went very well. No interuption, no unusual question, no pressure. I funded before the interview. Let me quickly add that I was able to book that same March 4th for my mum to do her Schengen visa interview though hers wqs after mine. She got the same VO and got her Visum a week after.

Four weeks after my interview, no word from them. I wrote to my Ausländerbehörde and they confirmed they had concluded my matter over there. Even while writing my Goethe Zertifikat A2 exam last week Friday, my mind was on my email. I can't count how many times I refreshed that day. I don't live in Lagos so decided to drop my passport and health insurance with my bestfriend who lives in Lagos.

8:23am on Monday, the 8th of April, my AM dropped. I immediately informed my friend who was able to drop the documents off before noon, with today being my intebded travel date juat to fasten the process. I tried tracking but the only info since Wednesday was "shipment information received." I wrote to the embassy yesterday morning explaining that my enrolment deadline is Monday and was surprised to receive a call from them. The speaker sounded like my VO. She said I shouldn't bother coming to pick it up as it would be despatched yeaterday (Thursday).

I kept refreshing the tracking page since yesterday. I called DHL this morning but was told there's no progress with the tracking because it hadn't been picked up. I then sent my bestfriend to the embassy but she was told she's not authorized to either pick up or be informed of the status. She would need a signed authroization letter and valid ID from me in order to do so. I started regretting not going to Lagos myself today. The lady answering calls at the embassy wasn't helpful at all.

At this point, I just rested and asked people not to disturb me. I was tired of worrying and panicking. I left all to God. 6:30pm, still no progress with tracking.
By past 7pm, I recieved a call from DHL in Benin city asking me to come pick up my parcel. I begged the man to wait which he did till I was able to collect it from him by past 8pm.

All I can say is thank you GOD. His ways are not ours.
Thank you all to everyone here including those no longer active but whose posts I benefitted from. Special thanks to Zuperyh8, Pompido, Dailydolar, Fluxxyn, Bayomiller, Wealthybae, Waledora... the list is endless. I pray everyone expectant at whatever stage will testify soon.

God bless you and may Deutschland favour us all.

Alles gutes!

Only God could have done this.

Congrats!

You have made succinct points and I completely understand what you mean (I have felt that way too wink).

What you should understand is that there are other factors that contribute to the withdrawal of many folks once they land in Deutschland (No details needed here).

Another reason for the withdrawal is the attitude of those being helped. A lot of help has turned sour because of one gridlock or the other. This experiences many have from trying to help has made them and many others decide to withdraw (and besides, their lives here is a herculean task on its own).

The truth is you actually can not expect everyone that has landed in Germany to continually share their experiences here, the best you can hope for is that you keep having 1 or 2 people provide the updates you need for every application period. If you find you have many more contributing, appreciate it and try to use the gained knowledge to help others.

This way the flow of information and assistance never ends.

Some land and find it very hard, some find it a bit softer and just need to get their bearings while others land armed with all the right info and connections allowing for smooth sailing.

Nothing lasts, make the most of every second and make it count! Now and Later.

Wishing everyone the very best.

For those asking for transcript (winter)
My interview was on April 2nd 2019

So I arrive at the embassy at some minutes after 5. I met one security man and told him I have an appointment by 7am, he told me to go and come back by 6:30am, so I went to the park and waited till it was about 26 minutes after 6, so I decided to stroll down to the embassy, I got there and found about 5 people in line already and joined, I looked forward and saw one slender, not too fair, bald man at the entrance arranging chairs and documents, I immediately knew that is the legendary Mr paulinus.

Mr Paulinus first handled family reunion people before he went over to student visa people and I was second in line, when it got to my turn, Mr Paulinus asked for everything even up to NYSC certificate and beyond, he said bring every thing one at a time and arrange them on the chair Original-photocopy- photocopy like that. I brought out all the document he asked for except primary school certificate or testimonial and by God's grace I still scaled through.

So I was ushered in asked to sign-in I was number one on that list. Inside the embassy compound the security man asked me to follow a green line painted on the floor to a waiting room, I did got in to the room the security man ushered me into room 4, I went in and met a young dark skin lady as my VO.
She asked me to bring out my documents. I did and presented it to her the way Mr Paulinus arranged it three set original-photocopy-photocopy like that, she asked for two passports (by the way don't staple your passport to the application form use paper clip), I gave her, she asked for the application fee, I brought out the money and gave her, she took my finger prints, she gave me receipt and two documents to confirm if the information on it is correct and sign, which I did .

I presented two international passport to her initially so she asked why do I have two valid passports, I told her the old one did not meet the requirement it won't be valid for 3 months by the time I will be leaving (my old passport was still valid till September 2021 and my program will be rounding up that same period and the requirement is that the passport must cover your period of stay and still have up to 3 months validity by the time you will be leaving), she said ok.

Interview proper.

Me: when I am asked to submit my international passport should I send both passport or just the current one

VO: just one, the current one.
Me: okay, so I booked for appointment using my old passport, hope it won't affect anything.
VO: she said no

I thanked her and took my leave, the securities asked how it went and for money. I gave no one a dime cos I wasn't sure who was watching or if it was a setup or a test.

Mr Paulinus never changeth his gra gra is new every morning, just do what he tell you to do. Drop your strong head and pride at home, the man can make you loose balance, make you disorganized by his shout and commands.

So that is my transcript Winter semester.

VO: masters or bsc
Me: masters
VO: what course
Me: Mathematics International
VO: why do you want to study in germany?
Me: I choose germany because germany is known for offering best academic, high quality, practice oriented program and also because of the enjoyable level of freedom, security, rich culture, history and the diversity characterizing it and also because of the opportunity to learn a new language.
(she was typing everything so I had to go slow)
VO: why not US, UK or Canada? Have you applied to any?
Me: yes Canada, because of affordability, it is not affordable for me and also because of the opportunity to learn a new language.
VO: but you can learn French in canada
Me: I'm not aware.
VO: can you tell me some facts about germany.
Me: (I kept on listing the facts because I memorized more than 20 facts until she interrupted and asked the next question)
VO: why not Nigeria?
Me: I began telling her about how the education system in Germany is better compared to that in Nigeria as my reason when she interrupted... she explained
VO: I mean what is wrong with nigeria (education system)
Me: there is no real balance between the practical and the theoretical aspect of a subject matter.
VO: is that all
Me: yes (wished I said more sha)
VO: why mathematics?
Me: because mathematics was the course I majored in during my BSc, so now I want to further and gain more advanced knowledge in the field.
VO: is that all?
Me: Yes
VO: can you speak german?
Me: no
VO: what is the topic of your BSc thesis?
Me: Modeling the dynamics and optimal control of Malaria.
VO: that's all your interview is over, we will contact you, thank you.
She returned my international passports back to me.

Me: thank you, please can I ask two questions.
VO: ok

God be with you. Good luck.
God bless you for this bro.
Winter applicant should also try to post their transcript for the benefit of others.

Bro, I'd humbly advise you certify at the embassy.
To avoid stories that touch
Like dis quote"to avoid stories that touch".Hope d school accepts the one sent directly to them from my school cos considering the distance of going to Lagos or Abuja for certification will be expensive and considering the letter head also is not bearing their address.Don't know whether the also accept letter of English proficiency.

After you've made all your applications. Go to "Pay" on the Uni-assist page. You'd see three modes of payment.

3D Secure Credit Card Transfer

Sofortuberweisung

Bank Transfer

Tick the "Pay" box

Then what you should click afterwards is the "3D Secure Credit Card Transfer"

Tick Agree on the terms and conditions bla bla bla

Carpe diem

You just needed the numbers on your ATM card to conduct this transactions or did it also require the mobile app?
