Mere wishful thinking don't develop nations. Development is but a conscious effort driven by ideas and strong leadership. It takes the wisdom of the old and the energy of the young to break new grounds.
Pre-World War II Japan was a global superpower, blown to kingdom-come by The U.S. in 1945 and capitulated thereafter.
Output in 1945 was just 30% of the pre-war era. By 1953 they were done with foreign aids. 1954, average income returned to pre-war levels. By 1958 they announced a full recovery from the War. The "Ikeda plan" was unveiled in 1960; to double the nations income in just 10 years. Western Economists threw a wet blanket over the blueprint. Well, they achieved that in 7 years. They were admitted into the fold of the most developed nations (OECD) in 1964.
Yes, they rose from the ashes in under 20years.

So while our feudal lord and his liegemen keep debating who's Cameroonian, Jamaican or Egyptian, let it be made known that we're "that that is wrong" with Nigeria. Oh! I just remembered - "we're making progress".

Oga OO

Can something good better than rice ever come out of this country? undecided

The bashir Ahmed was even proud of their rice achievement, the greatest achievement of presidency in 4 years

This is the worst form of Government if this is all they could achieve, they should work towards producing more beans and yam in their second term please lipsrsealed

The worst thing is that We even buy the much more glorified rice at exhorbitant price

This man just confirmed that billions get circulated in the north only yet north is still the poverty capital of the country

Omotola, Nigeria is hellish. But you celebrate an extravagant birthday and trend for buying your daughter abroad while your other kids are based abroad. Your husband as a captain earns nothing less than a million a month. Or are you just seeking attention. You show wealth today then tomorrow say Nigeria is hellish. With the wealth you display, you can actually help alleviate people's hell and make the world a better place.
As for those willing to call me bad belle over this, go get a life.
Na poverty and hatred go kill you.

Ikeboboafri:
Omotola Jalade has replied Nigeria's Presidency, after it debunked her comment of Nigeria is hellish under Buhari and Osinbajo and further insinuated that she is not working for clean money.

Recall that Bashir Ahmed, a media aide to the President who replied Omotola on behalf of the Presidency, debunked claims that Nigeria is hellish under Buhari. He tweeted in response;

Madam Omotola those who are working for CLEAN money are not complaining and will never refer our dear country as ‘hellish’. In Kano State alone, from 2015 to 2018, no fewer than 200 medium and small scale rice milling centres emerged. For that, billions circulated among millions.

Omotola Jalade who fired back at the Presidency after it debunked her comment of 'Nigeria is hellish under Buhari', stated that as long as their tweet never insinuated she is not working clean for her money, she is cool with them. She wrote in response to the tweet above;

https://unclesuru.com/2019/04/16/omotola-jalade-replies-presidency-after-it-insinuated-she-is-not-working-for-clean-money/

They don't even want people to criticize at all;that is hypocrisy.

Omotola knows where it's pinching her hence her crying out.

Do you know how many politicians were getting free money and were able to give to a selected all and sundry ?

You run into an actress or she calls you that she wants to see you whether in the office or elsewhere . As she is leaving, dollars will be given to her. She doesn't have to sleep with them ooo.

But now that it's drier than the desert, calls are not being picked or returned because you can't be Samson, ( Let me do as I used to do).

Free money doesn't encourage growth and development t . What was th3 best that was done when oil prices were at an all time high ?
Enrichment of a few at the detriment of many.

And like someone asked, meet Aunty Mo how she is doing it via making movies and co.

Have you noticed that most actresses are into sales of cream and soap making ?

Everyone is beginning to look inwards and working hard to produce for sale.

Government isn't doing enough and can do better .

The number of people that will sleep with these actresses and give them money has dropped drastically ....

Omotiola Jelade=nollywood A list actress.
Bashir Ahmad= unknown business.
200 rice mills in Kano = unknown brands.
Nigeria = Poverty capital + Highest number of out of school children + Alarming death rate + unknown answers to problems. All I know is that government is made up of MOSTLY people who would never have succeeded in any reasonable personal business venture.

It wrong to believe that government should make money circulate by engaging reckless spending as inbthe past. The truth is that our economy can only grow when local production and entrepreneurship are encouraged.

In other climes, banks conscientiously work to build customer base and develop the economy by providing funds and expert guidance to micro/small scale businesses as well as entrepreneurs with good ideas. Here in Nigeria, banks are on high horses servicing mainly importers, politicians and big companies.

In other climes, there are thousands of NGOs set up by wealthy people and big corporations to help people with excellent business ideas and poorly-funded going concerns. They organize business plan competitions to encourage entrepreneurship. In Nigeria, wealthy individuals sponsor candidates for elections while big corporations organize music concerts.

May God bless you. I believe most of us know the truth, but some would rather try to blame everything on the government regardless of how ridiculous it sounds.

When a Govt. Is critized, the people who are the recipients of it's system of governance should come out and defend it publicly, when it takes a member of the said Govt. to do this then they lack credibilty with the governed. No one not even a mad man will admit to a faulty attribute.

That is how bad it has gotten ,a government that is not ready to face criticism, without minding were is coming from. As independent as omotola she cannot criticise the government without been tag an ipob or a wailer like most popular naiaraland supporters usually say we are all in dis together I am loving it. I know someone like omotola supported this government one way or the other.

To a reasonable extent, everyone is greedy and somewhat self centered in Nigeria. Omotola's voice is so loud today because 'money is not in circulation' like it used to. In other words, she is affected and has definitely taken upon herself the mantle of the lone voice in the wilderness.

The presidency, on the other hand, has ready made answers and invisible projects cum achievements to show for its many works. Terrorism has leaked and is no longer restricted to the North but to other parts of the country. We seem to be getting more reports of police/uniformed men casualties more than ever and the number one man is mostly concerned about blocking his leaking scrotal sac in the UK. The PDP, on the other hand, are only interested at taking over and sharing the commonwealth of the people.

At this point, all the country needs at this point is an aggressive revolution; one that would see these old men uprooted, irrespective of their political ideologies and religion. But then, this is pipe dream. We are too docile as a people.
keep writing nonsense, money is not circulation as if money is the only problem that is facing Nigeria. Someone like omotola will feed ur entire generation idiot, it has not gotten to u and it will get to u soon.

You are senseless o. So if Trump says Nigeria is a shithole or Kenyatta says Nigerians are poor, does that mean they are speaking for themselves.

Try and have sense. She is speaking for the poverty stricken and that includes you even though you are too dum.b to realise that.
Sometimes I am ashamed to be called a Nigerian with dunderheads like you. Sufferhead kee you there!

Your review is naive. The point is that government are not doing enough to stimulate growth and prosperity. There are no clear cut government policy to growing SME and the middle class.
Poor infrastructures like in power has killed lots of businesses and hence poverty is growing.

Stop diverting attention from the issue at hand!

Much as I know that some nollywood actresses sleep with politicians to make money, Omotola is of different stock. She's married and has remained in her marriage for so long.
Besides, she lives a moderate life with less flamboyant display of wealth despite having been in the movie industry for many years with great movies to her credit.
So, don't demonize her just because she's telling the truth to the evil men we have in Aso rock today.

I think Omotola here is seeing things from the wrong point of view, she's making her money from God knows source. But saying that no money in circulation is wrong. This is the way blind fools thinks, they care for today but never about tomorrow.
If a farmer harvests his yearly produce and eat it up at the same time what would he replant in the next season.
The point is that everyone should calm down and pray for the government. It was the excessive spending of the various past that brought us here today. Most of the hardships we're experiencing now began long time before now.
