BUT the IRS made it easy to pay tax, try going to file tax return at CAC

It's very easy to file taxes, my people just never bother to educate themselves, my wife worked for LIRS for years, I've owned businesses for years now both in America and Nigeria. Before the IRS made things easy with online payment, people had to visit their office just for assessment. The problem with Nigeria is that we get comfortable when the government does not do is job. If the tax collectors did no disturb you, you won't even bother about taxes hence the root of our problems.

Omotola will have a taste of what Tuface had. You can't voice your opinion without being attacked. They will scare her with Tax returns and she will crawl back.

But for the records, Nigerians pay tax. Income tax, company tax, PAYE, VAT etc.

We don't deserve this HELL of a country run by hypocrites.

In short, nobody holy pass. Lol. There is no way you would attack a government like that without backlash

If omosexy was one of those artists depending on Govt patronage, she can never speak up. Those who depend on government for their source of income or business cannot speak the truth in today’s Nigeria.

Neither can those afraid of going to jail. Full blown tyranny.

What was her last movie and in what year?
She and many artists depended heavily on government's handouts and Jonathan’s administration really gave them a lot of money. They even fought over it, we're talking about billions of naira. Omotola is angry because this administration is not bribing any organisation or institution, NASS included

He succeeded in deflecting the issues that clearly spelt out the 'Hellish' nature of this country to one Nigerians are all too familiar with....money.

It is always all about the money. You want more taxes.... yet FIRS officials are being investigated for a 6 billion naira blowout. So 6 billion is probably missing. Is he saying that this amount will have made a shade of difference to 'hellish Nigeria....?', I doubt. What about 60 billion, 600 billion, 6 trillion, 60 trillion. Folks, nations enter into recessions and have years of prosperity. Nigeria 's problem has never been one of money, but of principle, structure.... that will just not permit any amount of money to work for the people.

Bashir can fantasise from now till 2023, Nigeria will not fundamental improve in the life of this administration unless structural changes are made to how this country operates. The moment a leader decides to tow the fault lines of the broken Nigeria project he has signed up to fail. I said it in 2014. Anyone can read my back posts. President Buhari and his government CANNOT improve Nigeria fundamentally, a few roads here and there, yes but the changes that will bring about lasting peace and sustainable development is impossible with this structure.

By 2023 we will all be better informed and I hope the narrative will not be.... 'ooh what a wasted 8 years', the same way the 16 years of the PDP went down the drain.Mr. Bashir, wake up. I don't think you or the 'staunchest' supporter of this government will have expected things to still be this bad by now when the Buhari project entered the scene in 2014.

I mentioned something similar in one of the threads I created a while back.

Nigerians want the best things. You know, things like the Europeans have but dont want to pay for it. How do expect world class infrastructures to be built when 90% do not even pay taxes. Just with Oil money

It doesn't work that way my friends. Nigerians have to collectively contribute to achieving the Nigeria of our dreams.

Edit: there are so many mentions, I can't reply everyone. So i'll just write this as an edit....

I think we all (at least most of) agree that taxes needs to be paid for infrastructures to be built but corruption and unaccountability is still a huge problem.

One day though, we will have to trust a government to do the right thing with taxes earned. I sincerely think this government is heading in that direction (I might be wrong). And when we have that government, I sincerely hope that everyone in the country will then contribute their fair share of taxes to build Nigeria up.

No one is gonna help us develop Nigeria if we don't. It's our house, our home, our land. if we don't take care of it, who will?
Oga I have a Jewish south African who was shocked when I told him we still generate power from gas . She told me in SA , states generate there own power and they use air, water and solar to generate power . So if the present government is not as corrupt as the past administration why can't it decentralise methods of generating power by it alone ?

So that is the cause of serious insecurity in almost all the states of the country and an almost moribund police force. So that is the cause of rampant inflation and collapsing industrial capacity. Deflect all you like, the complaints will crescend. You will defend like your life depended on it. Just get prepared.

If the government is not 'wasting money' bribing peole here and there. Then what is the government's finances used for at present. Tell me one area you can see real massive investments or opportunities Nigerians can key into to spur economic growth. What?

Which one: security issue just started and the police just became moribund or you and her just noticed?
We were in this country when Boko Haram were bombing Abuja every week. When MEND bombed independence parade in Abuja. When Chibok girls were abducted. Or, there were not herdsmen/farmers clashes before or there were not communal crisis before

Highest number of companies folded up during PDP's administrations. So, what again?

Go away if you have nothing better to say..

You should be the one to go away cos I don't see what you have added to this thread aside to support a failed government that takes pride in undermining her citizens economically... Which is what Omotola has kicked against.

Any way, you should justify your pay.

If the process is easy and smooth they don't have to disturb 80% of tax payers, as we can do it from our home, but you will go to the office and they will snub you and leave you to battle documents on your own even when you don't know how to go about it

Nigeria’s Golden Guinea Breweries reopens operation after US$9.98m investment

April 15, 2019 Food Business Africa

NIGERIA – Golden Guinea Breweries Plc, a beverage manufacturing company in Nigeria has re-opened its plant following a US$9.98 million (N3.6bn) cash injection to rejuvenate the brewery.

According to a Beverage Industry News report, production operations in the firm were cut short in 2003 which has since then been engaging in efforts of bringing back the brewer to life.

The brewery, which has been dormant for 17 years, reopened after receiving a loan facility of US$9,98 million from the Federal Government through the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) and the Bank of Industry (BoI) in April last year.

The investment has enabled the firm to double its processing capacity through installation of new equipment to a current operating capacity of 48,000 bottles per hour equivalent to 1.15 million bottles per day.

The producer of Eagle Stout and Bergedoff Lager holds the franchise rights from German-based Holsten Breweries to produce and market Golden Guinea Lager, Bergedorf Premium Lager and Bergedorf Malta in Nigeria.

Initially, the firm held the majority shares in the company but were later acquired by Pan Martine Investments Ltd promoted by Mr. Okey Nzenwa.

John Okiyi Kalu, Abia state commissioner for information, who had visited the plant said that the brewer is set to commercialise its operation by the end of the month.

“While we applaud the doggedness and hard work of the private sector owners of the company who worked day and night to bring back our favorite brewery and sustain Dr Okpara’s dream of a fully industrialized South East, the significance of the return of Golden Guinea is also not lost on us.

“The Ikpeazu-led administration is determined to support private sector organizations to create as much jobs as possible in the state to take care of the current and future employment needs of our brilliant graduates,” he said.

Golden Guinea originally commenced business in 1963 as Independence Brewery Limited with an initial annual capacity of 1 million gallons of beer.

Since then, the company has subsequently grown its portfolio from Golden Guinea to Eagle Stout, Bergedorf Premium Lager and Bergedorf Malta among others

The company has also undergone major facelift propelled by its German partner, Coutinho Caro (which later participated in an equity offering issued by the firm).

You Igbos are just too ignorant, you have zero clues per what this government is doing and have done to rescue and promoting many dead and collapsed business in Nigeria, I'm talking about the ones your crooked and corrupt PDP uncles killed and left to rot.

This brewery located in Abia/SE was killed back in 2003 under your looting and stealing useless PDP uncles, but guess who rescued this company 17 years later, PMB.

Yes, PMB saved this company in your ipob state, he created more jobs, more money, more IGR, something the useless PDP clowns you losers voted for and keep voting for couldn't do.

Kindly get lost with your hatred, oognorance and self-loathing.
