I need an answer please

Mstomie:
Please I would like to know what the process for BC remark is. I had a proxy help me drop off my EOR form and the proxy came back with a receipt from BC.

Am I supposed to get an email from them stating that my result has been sent for remark or I should just take it as my remark process has started?

Well said better person.

Mamaroon:

Thank you for your post jare! It breaks up the monotony of our EE questions.

Permit me to use the church example.....As in a church...some are Sunday school teachers...others are ushers...some are in sanitation department....some are in prayer...others in choir....we on this thread are in the EE group.

We want to go to Canada so we can send money back to NGOs... so we can come back later with ideas... some of us may decide never to set foot in NG again and that's ok too...the whole world is now a global village....Bill Gates is making more of a difference in the fight against malaria than any African...and he doesn't live on our continent!!!

Did you know US and UK nationals are in the top 10 migrants to Canada list? On one hand you say "whites" aren't selfish like blacks......on the other hand UN should investigate them for behaving like old slave masters....which is it?

Btw: using migration to fill a working population gap from aging is a well established economic theory. No blame game is necessary but if you insist on one...blame the country that makes it tempting for its talented, educated, middle class youth to leave...don't blame the one that's providing opportunities for them.

The decision to migrate was made in early 2017.

Evaluated my master degree with IQAS and hubby's ND/HND with WES.

We wrote IELTS 9 times (mine 8 and hubby 1)

I passed IELTS at the 5th attempt with LRSW - 9777

Unfortunately, this placed us at 439 and went for two more with 0.5 deficiencies in writing.

I then took the last test on 1st December 2018 and had LRSW - 8.5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5.
This breakthrough in writing came when Dr Benson offered to teach and review my write-ups. Our CRS score then moved to 445

I never got tired of writing the exam as it was the only mountain before me that needs to be leveled for us to have ITA.

My utmost thanks goes to the God Almighty !!!

Congratulations!!!
This is a huge encouragement to all IELTS hopefuls. Your breakthrough is just around the corner.

I would have responded to your point on relocating home and my kids returning (connecting with) to Nigeria, but I do not want to go philosophical. Lest I cause an intellectual furore with my sagacious ruminations on the concept of home, fluid identity, creolization of culture, roots versus routes, etc. Mind not my hurly-burly grin

Finally, honestly your courage in returning is impressive and good work you are doing. But you have American passport abi. And if anything happens, you can sharply travel for medical checkup and treatment. And maybe your children are studying abroad or even stayed back in America. Na so all our leaders dey do na, medical check fiam, all their family, overseas, even while "serving" their country grin Having travelled wide and seeing first hand the discrimination that comes with having a green card yama yama Ecowas passport, let me too go to Kuvukiland Cannyland and get my navy blue passy, then maybe I will return to beg naija for forgiveness on this grave "betrayal". I enjoyed your Write up but the paragraph below pushed me to comment, did you read the articles? are you also in know that IRCC has denied what you wrote. Are you urging us to support local NGOs while we are in Nigeria or in Canada. At least you have experienced and seen it all abroad (allow us migrate and make our decision too). thank you Rare being. #wemove

The UN needs to look into countries like Canada that take advantage of the dire situation in Nigeria and prowl on our brightest and youngest minds for the sole purpose of developing their country and replacing their aging workforce. Just today, their Prime minister was begging President Buhari to give him 1 million Nigerians. This just sounds like the year 1756 where the white man met with local chiefs and traded silver, mirrors and gun powder for African slaves. While I know most of you have made up your mind to flee your motherland, the least I can urge you to do is to find reputable charities and NGOs in Nigeria and donate to them once in a while. Quite sad, so many people are excited to flee their motherland to help grow and build up a white man's land. It's just like what my friend used to say, 'immigration is modern day slavery except this time they do not have to forcibly chain able bodied men to slave ships or rape our women, they just make it easier for your youngest and brightest minds to simply emigrate in droves'. Who will build this country if you all leave, have you ever thought of that? You think once you run to Canada you will still have any reason to return home? How about your kids? Do you think by taking them to Nigeria for 3weeks vacation will entice them to one day relocate to their father land? Sure nobody thinks about these things. The biggest problem the black race has is selfishness while the white man thinks about the greater good of a community. Everyone only thinks about what will benefit them and their family and that's where it ends. Even in the so called abroad, your fellow Nigerian will not want to accommodate or guide you because they think you will be better than them. Common info about schools, work or getting certain government documents, your fellow Nigerian in the diaspora will not help you. White countries and white people In general are successful because they collaborate and help each other. U.S, Canada and the UK are amongst the most developed countries today due to strong trade and military alliance. A white employer will hire a fellow white man for a lucrative job position before he hires an immigrant with the same credentials.

Before anyone says I'm ranting because I was denied Visa or whatever PPR thing you guys relish here like a lottery ticket, I also used to think abroad was the be all end all after graduating from university. I also hustled and eventually left Nigeria. I made $265,000 that year working several overtime hours (I have the W-2 and tax return forms to prove it) but I was never really satisfied because this part of me kept feeling like I betrayed my country. It takes a special kind of person to self reflect and then decide to walk away from a lifestyle of adequate security, good health care system, great schools, cheap food and law & order but without any sacrifice, Nigeria will perpetually remain a 3rd world cesspool. I moved back, got a job and started a mentorship and scholarship program where we find youths whose families are unable to pay their elementary and secondary school fees and we partner with local businesses to raise funds for these kids. School isn't for everyone, we also train several kids in IT, carpentry, plumbing, construction and mini importation. Has it been easy? No. Do I sometimes miss the convenience of my 2 bedroom apartment in north Los Angeles? You bet I do. But do I feel accomplished knowing that I'm making a positive change in small ways that will alleviate poverty, possibly reduce crime and put more food on the tables of a few Nigerians? Certainly.

The UN needs to look into countries like Canada that take advantage of the dire situation in Nigeria and prowl on our brightest and youngest minds for the sole purpose of developing their country and replacing their aging workforce. Goodluck.

Your comment is very well received, and I will try to be diplomatic as possible in this response.

Firstly, like someone said earlier, the world is now a global village, so comparing people migrating voluntarily with slavery doesn't fit. Get that mentality out of your head!

Secondly, you talked about Nigerians leaving Nigeria en mass, and asked who will build Nigeria if we keep doing that. According to my little research before this post, over 50 million Chinese are living outside China (the most in the world), and that hasn't stopped China from developing at the speed of light. Can you see that Nigerians leaving Nigeria doesn't stop Nigeria from developing if we are a serious nation?

Moreover, you also talked about your philanthropic adventures, which I find very commendable. So, be truthful to yourself, are you telling us that you going to Los Angeles, and then coming back to Nigeria to work hasn't changed your views on how to do things better?
So, if other Nigerians want to go through the same route to make a difference, please why stigmatize them?

And the most interesting part for me as an Accountant is the foreign remittance (it's more like a free money into the Nigerian economy). The Nigerians in diaspora sent an estimated $25 billion to Nigeria in 2018 alone, that contributed 6% to our GDP (Source: PwC). NIGERIA BUDGET FOR 2018 was $29.8 billion. Can you see that the foreign remittance (which will keep increasing) is almost the same as our budget? Do you know what the multiplier effect that would have had on the Nigerian economy last year? Are you seeing a key benefit there?
Also, unemployment is on a geometric increase, people leaving the country would reduce the pressure on the available jobs and also increase the chances of those left. Win-Win for everyone! Another key benefit!

Lastly, the world became what it is today through emigration. Exploration played a huge part in human history. So you can't blame people for wanting to go out and explore saner societies, and witness how things work. How are we going to know how a sane society works if we haven't witnessed one?
Have a nice day fellow Nigerian!

Lol this is such Bullsh*t, equating willful economic emigration for a better life to Slavery. You do the actual slaves a huge disservice with that nonsense.

I understand your pleadings on behalf of Nigeria. But this country is already well over-populated. It's not dying for more people. Secondly, everyone is different, just like your spirit yearned to come back to contribute to Nigeria, others spirit yearns to go somewhere and live a better life. Life is too short for some of us to sacrifice it to this country (and for what? a pat on the back?).

You do not have to perpetually be a victim of the circumstance you were born into. We all have a choice and you made yours. Good for you. Others have a choice in how and where they want to lead their life. Being born in Nigeria does not mean you've got a life sentence of having to live in the Country your whole life. Live and let Live. Goodspeed.

While I know most of you have made up your mind to flee your motherland, the least I can urge you to do is to find reputable charities and NGOs in Nigeria and donate to them once in a while. Goodluck.

ICES replied me the next day that their evaluation now takes an estimated 14 weeks. However they have completed my evaluation and would be desperate soon. I got UPS mail on Thursday last week that the report inbox the way. Teaching says i will getbitbon Thursday this week.
I decided to chance it with WES for my hubby though they said theirs will take 7 weeks or 35 days after receipt of all documents including WAEC/NECO.
Used @bibididi's help for his WAEC its in process now.

Oh i see. If hubby school is a responsive one as per verification and all then WES is the best option.
