What exactly are you shopping for?
There are some online sites that will give you access to American retail stores and ship to you.
Na still "american products " try that you get to save on travel cost and even shop.more angry

You have a point. But if she’s shopping for her wedding dress for example she definitely needs to get fitted. You cannot buy something like a wedding dress online. Impossible. But yes if USA doesn’t think it’s a good enough reason, look elsewhere. Don’t turn it to try your luck next time.

Obviously those interviewing officers have minds of their own and are out there to deny at will without any reasonable reasons other than taking out other previous b2 visa defaulters punishment on genuine/honest travelers.

I had to travel down to Nigeria on Friday and go with my mum to the embassy on Monday (I knew I won't be let in but just to boost my mum's morale and gave her all documents I can think of ... lolz).

Again, she was denied the second time without no cause ... she told me the woman/lady asked her just five questions and that was it.

Left Naija yesterday night and was sad all through my flight back to the states.

This embassy keeps giving the wrong folks visas and denying legit travelers or parents whose kids migrate to US legitimately ... it's such a shame.

If you're a US citizen, why not file for her? It will only take, gave or take, about a year to get a greencard. I know from experience some of our elderly folks do not want to come sit in the U.S. for extended periods of time to fulfill the conditions of LPR, but its possible to get the residency then give it up and go back to getting visas. I know someone who did that after being denied a visiting visa several times. He got his green card then gave it up after about a year and a half. He now easily gets visiting visas. Strange isnt it?

I thought about filing for her as last resort because she can’t come and liver permanently here ... I’ve not even thought about this your idea of giving up the green card after a while and then apply for visiting ... hmm that kinda makes sense.

I’d give it a thought.

Thanks so much

Good morning, gurus, I don't know if anyone have to hear this or be aware of the conuslar who is going to be live on facebook today by 2:30pm to tell us why Nigerians are been denied visa without any explanation. Please join then on facebook. Via US consular Lagos.

You might learn from it and apply it to your next visa interview

Hi,
My issue is quite complex. I have an important conference to attend at the University of Virginia, USA from June 17-21, 2019. However the nearest available interview appointment time in Nigeria is August 22, 2019. I requested for an expedited interview process and was denied. However, I will be travelling to Japan on a tourist visa from May 23-June 7, 2019:

1) Can I schedule my visa interview at the US Embassy in Tokyo instead (their nearest available date is April 18, 2019)?

2) Can I cancel my previous appointment (the one I created just so I can activate the Request an Expedited interview button) on my US Embassy in Nigeria portal and use the same MRV receipt number to schedule an interview in Tokyo during my visit dates (I have to create a new account on the Embassy in Japan's website)?

3) Can I use thesame Ds-160 form that I previously used to apply for a US visa in Nigeria to schedule my new interview date in Tokyo?

4) Does my visiting Japan on a tourist visa affect my interview decision?

Thanks in advance!

1) No. You are not resident in Japan and so have no ties to the country in which you would interviewed in. The American Embassy in Japan has no way to assess your ties to Nigeria. They are not omniscient.

2 & 3) Since you're ineligible to apply, these don't apply

4) If you are being interviewed in Nigeria, yes, in as much as it gives you travel experience

Milan is absolutely wonderful for shopping. And so beautiful too. Like it even beats London and Paris Imo. And guess what flights are like 400-450$ max on AirItaly from Lagos. Five hour flight for that matter.

Another benefit is you and your mil can do a day trip to nearby cities like geneve. You could also go to Rome/Venice 3-4hours by bus. Tickets to Vienna Austria is always so cheap from Milan. The 1300 you would have spent on ticket alone to NYC would go a long way.

If it’s just shopping, America is not the only option.

Make sure to fill in the same accurate information just as the Agents. E.G sometimes the agents say you are married just to help your visa and you come back and say you not. omo they hate lies.

You can get an earlier date in Abuja but you must be very patient... keep checking the website regularly.

Hello Omobendel, my hubby and i were granted visiting visa to usa in 2016 and we used the visa in 2016 for vacation and then used it for Birthing in march 2018, though i wrote to them that i was going to use it for birthing purpose and it expired in May, 2018. we applied for dropbox but we were asked to schedule for appointment which we did. unfortunately our visa renewal was denied because they saw discount in our hospital receipt despite the fact that we paid all our bills. we also got a letter of non-indebteness from the hospital and even from the doctor. Please i just want to know if we can re-apply again soon and how to go about it. Please i need your help for the way forward. Thank you.

Omobendel had explained how to do this severally on this thread. Fill a new DS-160 form with the correct information, then go to the cgi profile and input the new DS-160 code. You can now click update and print the new confirmation page.

NB: Make sure the new confirmation page carries the new DS160 code
