WW is no longer possible for now aunty. Your phone is either going to sold as chip unlocked or factory unlocked. I am unsure of the status of mine as it arrived unlocked as Yankee people use WW as Well. I will run a paid IMEI check and know whether it is locked to a network or fully unlocked. I have sha tested it with a Nigerian SIM or 2 and it worked fine.

In my 11 years on nairaland, this is the first time i would be calling someone out. I didnt want to do this but ChisomK9 left me with no option, to think i perceived we are 'friends', i guess its parasitic one where he'll be the only beneficiary.

So straight to the issue, i bought a new samsung s10+ from ChisomK9 on the 30th of March around 9:50pm for 225k. According to the TLC ad, there was no information on the lock status of the phone but i can remember vividly i asked him if it was factory unlocked which he said yes (over a voice call). Now Chisom is saying i didnt ask him if it was factory unlocked or not.

It is pertinent to state that Chisom is fully aware that the phone is locked to Sprint but for selfish reason, he decided to conceal the information by not putting it on the TLC ad.

Phone landed and i told Omicpet to help me confirm if its factory unlocked cos i got a buyer in Lagos before delivering to him (normal checks on phone so that one wouldnt look stupid in front of buyer). Only for Omic to tell me that the phone is locked to Sprint, immediately i called Chisom and he said he never told me it was factory unlocked, that the first person he told about the deal was Omicpet and he told him it was Sprint, and i was like why didnt you tell me, he said i didnt ask him. Then i told him we spoke on the phone that night, i asked him and he said yes but he denied again that he never told me yes.

Monday afternoon, i called Ayo in Ikeja to ask how much it is to unlock a Sprint S10+ , he said it wasnt going. Yesterday, a friend of mine was in Ikeja and i asked him to confirm again, and Ayo told him its now going and it would cost 40k to unlock. I called Chisom to tell him of the situation but he wasnt going to say anything reasonable, so i suggested that we split the unlock fee into 2 equal amount and Chisom said NO, that I have to bear the unlock fee alone cos I didn't ask him if it was locked or he'll refund me my 225k (which has been in his possession for 17 days).

Facts:

1. Chisom knew that the Phone was locked to Sprint Network but he concealed the information.

2. I wouldnt have bought the phone if i knew it was Sprint locked because Sprint unlock is not even stable especially for their latest flagships.


My people, this is my own latest experience with ChisomK9, kindly comment accordingly before i know what to do. As the saying goes, elders no dey dey for market make small pikin head bend.

For everyone that I've dealt with here, they can say one thing for a fact that I'm always very reasonable with my approach to problems even when it's gonna cost me money, I'm a very understanding person and no one here can say we've ever concluded a transaction on a bad note. Even ChisomK9 himself can testify that for every issue here that he's involved, I always call him and the parties involved to help solve the matter, I'm surprised he's doing this to me. Cc dragnet


The ruling in the case is likely to set a precedent for how future cases are decided and also as a deterrence for shady deal hunters

That playing smart is also one of the reasons I won't accept a refund.

And why can't you see a deal on factory unlock s10+ for 225k? If you know how much some of us buy phones from suppliers ehn, you would know this is not an issue at all. My supplier offered me this same S10+ for $600 (222k) on the 10th of April , and I'll still bargain ooo, but I didn't take it cos I wanted this one I ordered to come first and lemme see the market acceptance.

One thing i learn't in this business is that when given the opportunity the person you call friend and trust will rip you off so trust no one, do your due diligence and ask questions before sealing any deal. I bought two iPhone 7+ 128gb from a supposedly friend who claimed that the costmetic condition was 9/10 only for me to receive phone and it turns out that his claims were false..... Worse part be say the two phones had other serious issues apart from the heavy scratches on it's body... Phones just dey my drawer because clients are rejecting it.

I remembered very much that very day I posted that deal dragnet banned for 3 days because the I posted the deal on pickers thread I contacted cc omicpet to help me post it on the deal thread of which I told him full box and accessories brand new he later asked me if it was factory unlocked I said no because that very supplier sells mostly carrier locked phones

Like I told you before, I remember vividly that you called around 9:32pm and it was on the phone I asked if you have any deal and you mentioned the S10+ to me. I'm a very detailed person, you can always see that when I post my ad, so there's no way I wouldnt have asked you during that phone call if it was factory unlocked or not.
