How High - 6.5/10
A better stoner movie than Pineapple Express.

So I just watched Bird box and it's really a 9/10 for me. I enjoyed watching it so much that I didn't move an inch all through. I love movies that gives me intense adrenaline rush just like No escape 2015 movie and 2013 World War Z..... It feels like I'm right there in the movie. My best genre of movie being horror followed by thriller filled action/heist movies.
The 1% i removed is because they didn't get to explain the "If you look, you die" phenomenon but all the same....the movie is great and is recommended for thriller and horror movie lovers like me. shocked

Bird Box is a top psychological thriller. It left quite an impression on me.

If you want more of the same, watch the Final Destination films, Saw 1-4 (ignore the others), Skeleton Key, The Frighteners, Slither and Dead Silence.

I loves dead silence but it seems critics hated it

The Grey thought me how deadly, relentless and intelligent a wolf pack can be.

Schlinders List is a classic. The last moment when his character was weeping that he should have saved more gave me the feels.

Taken should have been left well alone as a standalone. The sequels completely ruined it's legacy.

Unknown has a teeth shattering plot twist that completely caught me unawares. I remember watching that movie mainly because of Diane Kruger. I had a huge crush on her after seeing her in The Bridge (tv show) and Mr Nobody. She didn't disappoint.

My list is a little different from yours:

- Rob Roy
- Schlinders List
- The Grey
- Unknown
- Taken (part 1)

Rob Roy, the 70s Scottish setting was kinda a turn off for me, but I'll do check it out, based on your judgment.
So have you seen Nonstop & Run All Night??

The blacklist that people are marking calender to watch new season?
Maybe u walked out on the Blacklist to go watch African Magic or Zee World.

Nope, just got tired of the endless list of people to kill or die.. It get boring. So I switch.

Rob Roy was a story about English domination and Scottish rebellion. It's identical in theme to the more popular Braveheart, but have more heart IMO. The final sword fight choreography between Neeson and Tim Roth is the best I've seen since. It's ultra realistic. Give it a watch. It's a well made medieval classic.

I can hear that deceptively mild, Irish accented voice in my head grin

The voice, tone & mood in which he delivers that phone call of his in the movie is legendary...So also, one voice act am thunderstricken by, is that of OPTIMUS PRIME in the TRANSFORMERS franchise, I wonder if the actor behind the voice act is actually real, like being natural & no form of editing.

I've seen them but for the life of me can't recall their plots from memory, or tell them apart from the plot of Taken.

It's called the movie trailer voice. Anyone blessed with a rich and deep baritone can channel that voice in a heartbeat.

Non stop was kinda on a hijacked plane, were Liam an air martial, sought to find the person threatening to blow up his plane. It was basically THE COMMUTER, but this time more intense & on a plane instead of a train. Its safe to say that THE COMMUTER was cliché to NON STOP.

Run all Night premise was a little bit similar to the first taken movie. It was basically kinda like POLAR & JOHN WICK.

See, that's my gripe with Liam Neeson. His penchant to starring in movies that have similar plots have inadvertently relegated him to the unenviable typecast status. I can't tell some of his movies apart, honestly.

Bird box was ok. Most of us here have actually seen the movie, because, I remember us dissecting the move here sometime in December last year.
NO ESCAPE the same one by Owen Wilson?... Menh that movie sure gave me one heck of an adrenaline thrill, it was as though I was with Owen & his family all the way....You should probably see A QUITE PLACE by Emily Blunt.

Yeah! Same one by Owen Wilson...lol
I've read a lot of reviews about the quiet place here on nairaland... Will probably see it soon. Have you seen 13 hours secret soldiers of Benghazi , 2007 the kingdom by Jamie Foxx (All about American Soldiers sent to fight terrorism and al-qaeda bombings), or 2006 Poseidon? They are also action packed thriller movies guaranteed to give you RUSH. You should see them. Next on my watch list tonight: 2001 Ocean's 11 and Marine 6 Close quarters. wink

Can't be bothered with any Liam Neeson Movie for now same plot...same execution, is Typecast can only be rivaled by Asa Butterfield at this point..only the Ballads of Buster Scruggs in recent memory had a different plot of the movies he has appeared in.

I just learnt the person behind the optimus prime voice is Peter Cullen, but I think imitating such voice act to perfection just like the original actor might take time for the imitator to come to grasp with, its not a heartbeat kinda thing, because if it were that easy, Cullen wouldn't have been playing the voice of Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Streetwise Blowpipe, Slugslinger from both the Transformers animated TV's series & movies from 1984, till date. like you said, its a blessing & believe me when I say no two blessing/gift are the same, just like the popular American voice actor Don LaFontaine who recorded more than 5,000 movie trailers and hundreds of thousands of television advertisements, network promotions, and video game trailers, after he died, a lot of gifted voice acts tried to copy/imitate him, but none came close to his voice, they all sounded kinda like but not like him.

That's Koran's voice.

There's a new Voltron you know. Voltron Legendary Defender. 8 season. It's very nice. Though not like the old one we know, but still very very nice.

Be sure to get the subtitles to A QUITE PLACE before you see it, else you wouldn't enjoy it.

I've seen 13 hours secret soldiers of Benghazi , and the kingdom by Jamie Foxx, I haven't see Poseidon though.

No offence, are you really a lady behind this monika, cause am quite fascinated at the way you were just quoting Action thrillers here & there. Most lady friends of mine are just interested in Nollywood movies & the few who'll tell you they like Hollywood movies, watch & classify Filipino love movies as Hollywood movies.

I wouldn't know.

This voltron is different from the others. In this one, the Lions are alive and they chose who pilot them. The pilots are called paladins.

It's really interesting. I got hooked when I watched the very first episode. Had to download everything. The story is very rich also. Very different from the old one.

Final Fantasy vii - Advent Children 9/10.

Genre - Animated, Sci-fi, Action, Fantasy.

This is how you make a screen adaptation from a game, keeping it simple, stick to plot with continuity.
I don't know which gets me, the fight scenes or the lonely Cloud, or the childish but dangerous Kadaj gang.
The game storyline and that of Vincent are neatly woven into this master piece.

True. That's why I don't regard the Commuter because I feel it's a rip off of Nonstop. Run All Night is the rip off of Taken 1. He acts in movies with similar plots, direction and premise all the time.
