talking about message WizKid is way far better than Davido, I'm yet to see froggys song with any message. Maybe assurance or If, perhaps fatty bumbum
Any song that does not pass a message is that one song? People remember Michael Jackson today is it not because of most of his positive impact songs like We are the world, Speechless etc What Davido and Wizkid or whatever you call them, can there song stand a decade? Go and study what music is all about you will understand that music is more than just singing its even culture self cool

Songs don't need to send any message.

What message does Gangnam style send? What of "Another one bite the dust"?. What message does rap hip hop send if not either glorifying violence and sex?
Rather, it seems the more deviant a song, the higher it's selling power.

What local musicians lack is foreign publicity.
Any song that does not send any message is that one song? Very soon all this quack song will fade out with time and the real song that makes impact will stand the test of time that's why they are called EVERGREEN songs cool

In Africa we love the Nigerian singers of Afrobeat, I do not see an African country where your singers are not known. Before these new singers, Fela was well known in Africa, as well as the singer who sings "sweet mother". cool cool cool
Re: Lanre Teriba: Americans See Wizkid As An Upcoming Artiste by gwama: 5:41pm On Apr 19, 2019
It is rather Lanre Teriba who is unknown in Africa, it is the first time that I see it, I do not know any of his songs. As gospels singers , Sinach is very well known in Africa, many evangelical radio and TV pass his songs, there are Frank Edward and Joe Praize who are known. cool cool

Americans must not approve our musicians as superstar before we tag them as one. there are our superstar, there represent us they represent our music. so Americans keep ur opinion about our musicians to yourselves.
well said bruh, screw the Americans with whatever they think, it’s our music and their opinion should be shoved in their butt

I'm from Burkina Faso, I was not a big fan of music, even Western music, but since the advent of Afrobeat, I became a big fan of music, I listen . Afrobeat music 21h/24. At home, in my car, at the office. Mr. Lanre, you are jealous of your younger brothers success. cool cool cool cool cool

If is the black Americans, yea, those guys are racist to their fellow non-American black. Greater percentage of the white don't even listen to black song they only listen to country song
So why is Davido's music...Fall to be precise... be playing 24/7 on the biggest hip hop and r&b stations in the US? Not even listen often... but he was climbing the charts... up to #7 like 2 weeks ago. The competition is stiff.... Terrible Teriba should know that... even in Christian music. If your music is good... you move from local to international.

Yes they are still learners and local champion grin music is not all about jumping up and down on stage and shouting trash. Look at late Lucky Dube and Bob Marley this ones command global respect cos of there songs look at late M.Jackson this one na legend.
How many Nigerian musician apart from King Sunny Ade, Wasiu Ayinde Barrister, and a host of others that are truelly passing a message with there songs, but this present crops of musicians are just noise makers as far as am concerned.

To the topic mr ateriba... The world is a global village, the music macarenna if you know the meaning of the lyrics u won't dance to it, yet that song is one of the most popular danced by old and young and the people that did it as still local... So please say something else, everyone start from somewhere.

This guy has always fitted my definition of who a fool is, and as always he didn't disappoint today. From dating a fellow gospel artist to impregnating her sister, he has always endangered his career one way or the other with stupid behaviors, I wonder what he hopes to gain with this worthless revelation, WizKid can never be an upcoming artist in america cos he's based in Nigeria. He might not be that known in america but that doesn't diminish his status as an international super star from Nigeria, he's unknown in america same way Nipsy Husle, gorillas and Adam Levin are in some way unknown in Nigeria. But that other mumu(Lanre Teriba) is still unknown despite the fact that he has spent eternity in the music industry, lol a collaboration with kirk Franklin "keep dreaming".

Gospel singer Lanre Teriba who a guest today on TVC's Entertainment Splash, disclosed that Americans see Wizkid as an upcoming artiste. Speaking at the interview, Lanre Teriba who disclosed that he travels a lot, stated that Nigerian artistes are still seen as local musicians in the lens of foreigners alongside Wizkid who they see as an upcoming artiste.

He said;

I travel a lot and I can tell you that Nigerian artistes are still seen as local musicians in the lens of foreigners. Even Wizkid is seen as an upcoming artiste. I go on tour every year, I will be in America from May to July this year, but we, Gospel artistes have a problem with the media. They are not supporting us or mentioning us at all. At the moment, I'm trying to do something with Kirk Franklin.

There are lots of present day musicians passing message across with their songs, and Brymo is my favorite of them all, perhaps you should be the one to filter the noise makers and focus on those with meaningful contents.

so on point bro..and this wackiness is affecting the kids growing up amidst the noise and lyrical mediocrity, even the ajegunle music back then (galala), made more sense than shaku skaku and the brand new madness, what is it called again..ehhnnn zanku, thats the mother of all them trash we are dealing with today as music, coupled with a bad economy and hopelessness currently pervading the whole system making youths with no talents to pick up the mic in the bid to escape poverty and strife, then having a veggie in power kills the whole essence of what music stands for!
