I saw this happen a lot of times during my time in uni.
So because social media wasn't a thing then this news trumps my experience?

Nigerian mentality, what if he falls down from there and get injured? In an advanced nations who are not allowed to involved yourself on things that can endangered your life while carrying out your responsibilities, because its would cost the organization financial expenses when you get injured.
