Rubbish. I can say this is absolutely not correct. I have owned 3 mercs from brand new. Never gave me any issues. 1 even saved my life - had a write off accident. Not only did I not have any scratch it actually alerted the emergency services to my location. I have owned a 3 series BMW as well previously and I can tell you like for like 3 series is no match for the C Class.

I don't think the car is an overrated car, I think their pedigree is what speaks for them. They have since the 40's perfect car design and comfort in automobile and at these time , Toyota was still struggling to make a car.
Most of the Asian car were developed from copying a thing or two from Benz. You can imagine a 1978 Benz having ABS in it. So on these ground I think Benz have earned their respect long before Toyota and lexus or whatever u can think of

In North America, when benz or bmw bought brand new hits 3 years old, the owner quickly sell them off die to expiry of warranty. Repair and maintenance cost becomes very expensive once the warranty expires.
