Predstan:He is wrong. Percentage increase is actually 67% and this increase ordinarily should affect all salary earners i.e every salary earners salary should be increased by dat percentage because the current salary of every worker was calculated ising the old minimum wage. However, because of nigeria economic and financial strenght. Not all salary earners will received the increment as at now 1 Like |

It can never be percentage increase because the government can't pay for that. Let us all be patient and see what they will come up with. If it is not enough, we demonstrate. Simple. |

so an increment from 18k to 30k is 67%? please work on your statistics. let me help you. 18000/30000* 18,000 will give you the percentage[/quote] You are wrong. Percentage increase is calculated thus: New figure minus the old figure divided by the old figure multiply by 100 I.e (30,000 - 18,000)/18,000 = 66.6666%. Meanwhile still need the understanding of calculation of minimum wage |

viver1: Simple mathematics. 30 is in the multiple of 3 if you agree. And you can find ten 3s in 30. The old minimum wage is 18k where you can find six 3s - 60% The increment is 12k which has four 3s - 40%. So 40% is the increment, dont kill yourself with formula 1 Like 1 Share |

jujunaty: You are on point bro Buhari even said it's only those who are currently earning below #30k that will benefit from the increment. Thus those whose basic is less than 30 will enjoy 67% increase. For those whose basic is more than #30k another round of negotiation might begin to determine the percentage increase the government will agree to pay. Note the law says it's criminal to pay less than the minimum wage. Once government satisfied the law, then other increment is discretional... |
