OBIANO COMMENDS ABS, ASSURES OF LAUNCHING STATION ON DSTV PLATFORM

Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) TV will commence twenty- four hour broadcast on the terrestrial channel shortly, preparatory to launching on the DSTV platform.

Governor Willie Obiano gave the assurance during a parley with select ABS Staff and members of the Governor's Press Corps at the Governor's residence in Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area.

The Governor said that he is impressed with the current output of ABS, noted that he has put things in motion to ensure that ABS is accommodated on DSTV.

With a sense of pride, Governor Obiano further noted that he watches ABS Programmes and appreciated the staff for the hardwork and efforts, especially the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Chief Uche Nworah, whom he assured will receive a State Government commendation certificate.

Going down memory lane, the Governor stressed that State government has invested so much to give the station its present digital status, away from what was obtainable in 2014 when he assumed office.

While quoting some areas of improvement, he revealed that after implementation of the new minimum wage which he said will add over two billion naira to his wage bill, he will do more interventions for ABS and its staff, urging them to continue as he is solidly behind the station.

For his part, a member of the Board of Directors of ABS who is also the traditional Ruler of Nteje, Igwe Roland Odegbo thanked the Governor for the commendation, asking the ABS staff to work harder.

Good development for Awka though but are they saying those of us in Onitsha don't deserve some of these 'ebe ife n'ine n'eme' or our own is just factories, commerce and transport?
Awka residents please help na, una enjoyment is way too much and the rest of us all over the state especially in Onitsha do is savour the nice pictures, not fair.

Lol. Awka is the administrative/hospitality/tourism capital of Anambra, while Onitsha is the economic/industrial/commercial capital of Anambra and SE at large. Nnewi the automobile hub. Wazobia FM is based in Onitsha, they have done similar thing in Onitsha, they just decided to take it to Awka this Easter.

When u are arguing, back it up with facts don't just use sentiments.Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria but ranked number one with the highest foreign and domestic debts in Nigeria.Having wealthy economy in trading and commerce only improve your GDP by mere 2% that's y anambra trailed by that position.Taxing wheel barrow pushers and shops wont improve IGR growth and boost your economy.
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by marshman293: 10:54am On Apr 23, 2019
Check the IGR performance of state in the southeast u would see that IMO state generated the highest for 2018.They also have the highest budget for 2019 due to improvement in IGR.Even Ebonyi states budget this year surpassed Anambra
