prodigyhenry: While that's the norm on this thread, to call non-sword wielding characters cowards. Samwell Tarly actually is a coward, but that's his storyline; how you find bravery in the midst of despair. “Bran thought about it. 'Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?' 'That is the only time a man can be brave,' his father told him.” His character is an illustration of being afraid yet overcoming the fear. 8 Likes 1 Share |

streetdisciple: The Kingdom of Isles and Rivers - The Iron Islands (House Greyjoy) and The Riverlands. The Stormlands - The Crownlands (House Targaryen of Old; King's Landing is located here) and The Stormlands. So Seven Kingdoms, Nine Regions. 1 Like 1 Share |

Funaki: Jon isn't the heir primarily because he is a man. He is the heir because he is the last remaining child of the former heir in a situation where no other Targaryen is alive but the sister of the heir. Even if Jon was a woman he'd have a greater claim to the throne than Danny. The children of Rhaeger whether male or female come first in the line of succession before Danny. Even if Danny was a male Jon would still have a greater claim to the throne. 18 Likes 4 Shares |

Funniest line in this episode: men are easily manipulated. I nearly laughed my ass off when Sansa made this statement. Sansa of all people is saying men are easily manipulated? If so, how many has she been able to manipulate? She was betrothed once, sold once and got married twice and yet, she had no effect on the lives of those men (by way of manipulation) so why would she even say that? If it was Cerci or Margery or Danny who made that statement, it would have been understandable. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Jon Snow has absolutely no sense of timing. What made him think that this was the right time to tell Danny about his claim on the Iron throne? And to make matters worse he says it in a tone that suggests that even though he has not made up his mind, he may want to take his rightful place. Like seriously? But on a light note, I would have liked to see Danny shove her hand into a fire and say, "if you are truly a Targaryn, then fire can't burn you, so put your hand in the flame". I know it's not all Targaryns that are immune to fire but I'm sure that will dissuade him from having any thoughts of calling himself a Targaryn. 2 Likes |

I've been team Sansa all along and I've defended most of what she has done, but Sansa is not nearly as smart as she thinks. Danny is her Queen and she went out of her way to try and mend the bridge between them, yet Sansa keeps giving her a cold shoulder and for what? Sansa seems so intent on having an independent north even when they can't protect their independence. As it stands now, when / if Danny ascends to the throne, the north has the most to gain because her children will be part Stark and also having a Jon by her side when she rules the 7 Kingdom would be in their best interest. On the flip side, the stand nothing to gain by being independent. They can't win a war against Danny and the most certainly cannot win a war against Cerci so you would think that sansa would use her sense to decipher that independence won't favour them at the moment. But, trust her to feel woke and run her mouth. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Semtu: Well, at the time Ned supposedly found Lyanna just giving birth to Jon in Dorne, Rhaegar was already dead, Aerys was dead too and Viserys and Dany were already being smuggled to Essos. I always just assumed Dany was older by a few months at least. 6 Likes |

Wait oh, Tyrion seems to be on a streak. A streak of giving bad advise. For a wise man, his advise has been very shitty lately. As it stands now, Danny will never be able to take kings landing after the war because Cerci is more than prepared for her. .... Going through this thread, I've come to realise that a lot of people hate Danny. People seem to hate her no matter what she does. All her words and actions are twisted in order to support their narrative. Nawa oh 3 Likes 1 Share |

Funaki: If Jon was a woman and Danny was a man then yes, Dany would be the heir to the throne. But my point is that given the situation you can't say that Jon is the heir JUST BECAUSE he is a man. If Danny was a man, Jon would still be the heir. If Jon was a woman he would still be the heir. |

Fadedvoices2: I didn't support misogynism. I was only showing the guy that Jon is heir because he's man and Dany is a woman, which is still man-power for those saying the show has feminist agenda. And most men will probably die except maybe Samwell Tarly |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by MOBBDEEP: 10:35pm On Apr 24, 2019 |
Funaki:Not that clear-cut Jon would have still had the right claim because she is a direct child but, depending on the prevailing situation and personality of Danny, he may try to out of greed & contempt wrestle the title from her with the support & backings of the 'kingmakers' & opinion-leaders! And that was exactly what happened at Iron Island Theon was the rightful heir Yara became next when Theon ceded the claim to her But their uncle, the usurper, with his popularity and the backings of the disgruntled subjects toppled the rulership claim of both Yara & Theon I have a feeling he won't have done that if Theon had not ceded his claim to Yara The determinants of heirship in the descending order of importance: Pedigree (direct progeny) Gender Age Others |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Gbola5(m): 10:40pm On Apr 24, 2019 |
Yonce: Jon is about 9 months older than Dany. Dany was conceived during the last stages of Robert's Rebellion. Her mother and Viserys were sent to Dragonstone after Rhaegar's death. The Sack of King's Landing then happened( so Aerys would still have been alive to conceive Dany) , which was succeded by the Siege of Storm's End being lifted by Ned Stark, who then left for the Tower of Joy, where he found Lyanna with Jon. Jon was conceived as at the Battle of the Bells, when Rhaegar departed the Tower of Joy leading to the Battle on the Trident. So Jon had a head start. This makes sense because only after the Siege of Storm's End was lifted could Stannis have sailed to Dragonstone and possibly captured the Targeryens, which then led to Rhaella and Viserys fleeing, which then occured the Storm of Daenerys's birth, hence Daenerys Stormborn. 1 Like |

From the thread I see people asking "what if Jon was a lady and Dany was a man". Quick one: Let's look at the Greyjoys... Euron fought and is still fighting for the leadership of the Iron born. He actually wanted to eliminate Theon and Yara so they don't clamour for any claim to the throne. To make it simple: Royalty is passed downwards and not sideways. Don't forget to Enjoy the show. 7 Likes 1 Share |

anungangampu: What lots of people do not realise is that after the character Arya lost her virginity, thousands of young girls who have idolized Arya since the beginning of the show will also be eager to lose theirs in similar manner. It's basic human psychology. Humans tend to imitate the actions of people they admire and since the brains of humans can't really differentiate between a character and the actor playing the role this makes it even more likely. Hence why I'm skeptical of the intentions of the writers for including that scene and directing it the way they did. I find it funny how people say: Just watch the show for entertainment and stop pointing out stupid shit. These people don't have an iota of an idea about how movies and shows shape human behavior, especially that of young people. This isn't even debatable. It's a known fact in the fields of psychology and social science. And there have been few examples in recent times. In the movie The Program, there was a scene where a character was lying down on a yellow line in the middle of the road while cars drove past him at the sides. It served as a test of bravery. Then other characters joined him. After the movie was released there were cases of people dying and getting injured because they were trying to imitate what they saw the characters do in the movie. There is also the example of how the movie Deer Hunter inspired lots of people to play the deadly game of Russian Roulette because characters in the movie played the game. Saying a movie is to be watched just for the entertainment value is just like saying a book should be read just for entertainment. I mean, that's what you'd expect a child to say, but an adult? Really? So a person should read Animal Farm just for entertainment and ignore the fact that the book was highlighting the flaws of the communist ideology? Similarly, so I should just watch GOT solely for entertainment purposes and ignore its glaring themes? Give me a break! 12 Likes 1 Share |
