kaad: Speak to the payroll team of where u work or call HMRC . Maybe they put you on a wrong tax code or making wrong deductions . The tax free allowance for 2018 is £11,850 and check your payslip if your tax code states 1185L 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Lexusgs430: This is not entirely true, everything is done in real-time now so if you owe them you’ll know about it sooner rather than later. No one should hesitate to call HMRC if they think they are owed. |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by marylandcakes: 3:56am On Apr 25, 2019 |
kaad: You can speak to the HMRC directly, there is nothing to be afraid of. They have all your records you will be amazed. Everything is done in real-time now. They will adjust your tax code and send it to your work place so that the correct tax can be deducted. Check your code and make sure you are not on the BR code. |

Hello E-Fam. Good morning to all. Please I need clarifications or advise. I am on the spousal dependent visa and coming up to renewal/extension. First visa is usually 33months and I still have up to August to apply. My query is how much time am I allowed to stay out of UK on this visa without it being detrimental to my renewal/extension? Thanks for your responses. |

Lexusgs430: This rule may apply only if you are self employed but if you are an employee, there is no reason to not make that phone call. |

Fynebouy: As a dependant of a Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 4 Point Based System there is no minimum period that you can stay outside of the UK...... during renewal However if you plan to apply for ILR , then the home office is waiting and have a rule that you cannot be out for more than 180 days in 12 calendar period within the 5 years period .... If you want to do ILR / settlement then take this very serious to count the days outside 1 Like |

Acos925: Lloyd's TSB and Nation wide use to be the easiest to open then. There was Alliance & Leicester which is now Santander or so, it was also easy as A&L but I don't know of now. Try and avoid Barclay's Bank and NatWest, their matter too dey long. HSBC a little better than Barclay's and NatWest. |
