According to the story: 6 bandits decided to attack the cattle market within the Hausa community; the police intervened and in the process killed 2 of the bandits; some of the locals became incensed for the killings (by police) and instead took reprisals against the Hausa (who up till then were innocent victims of bandits' attack); apparently the Hausa fought back, killing one of the locals, who happened to be a prince of the land; there after all hell broke loose as the local community turned full scale on the Hausa community - as captured in the video clips.

Under the above mentioned circumstances; how could the killings by police be blamed on the Hausa community or how does self defence by the latter become a crime?

I didnt listen to the news but i was around Intels yesterday and heard Police vans speeding towards Obigbo and back; As a result of the noise, a pal wanted to know what's happening and he went outside to check but to return with one of my stated narrative while one of our drivers gave another different narrative this morning.

- How did bandits come into the picture despite calling him a prince of same community I guess?
- Were the bandits armed to have attacked the hausas?
- How does 6 unarmed alleged bandits attack a whole hausa community. Your story makes no meaning. Well i feel for the people of rivers state. How I wish this had happened in Delta, specifically, warri. The result would been better by now.

This is false... I was right there and I can tell you what really happened. 5 mentions and I'll post the true story here. CC mynd44, Lalasticlala.

The whole thing actually happened at the popular yam zone market at Iriebe/Oyigbo, Trouble started when an Hausa man that deals on condemn aluminum and irons was confronted by a Calabar man who demanded to know where and who sold the not too old motorcycle he was carrying alongside other condemned iron and metals, When the Hausa man couldn't explain as to how he came about it, people started to gather and he was almost lynched for stealing the motorcycle. All of a sudden his fellow Hausa man came out with a knife and stabbed the Calabar man to death, Some other Calabar guys chased the Hausa man that stabbed their brother to death and killed him too, being a market that is dominated by Hausas...they unleashed mayham on the other Calabar people and killed four of them and two oyigbo indigenes of which one turned out to be a prince. Before the police could arrive they have already burnt some vehicles and attacked everyone around. I personally witnessed this cos I was searching for a vulcanizer to help fix my tyre very close to the scene. Pardon my typo and delay... I've been busy!

I don't know what really transpired, but i hope it can be resolved. Just because a state is mostly of a tribe that don't mean you own that state, it has been forfeited for a greater good after independence. Any nigerian can move to enugu, or zamfara, or ondo, or akwa ibom, at anytime of their choosing as long as they don't go there for crime which will land them in jail even in their own birth state.

We need to respect ourselves. Rip to the affected people.
