A teenager who stole a 3-year-old boy after punching his mother, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. The 19-year-old boy, Chisom Obiora, who allegedly punched the boy's mother identified as Mrs. Rofiat Ayinde in the face in order to abduct her three-year-old son at the Satellite Town area of Lagos State, was arrested by the police on April 12, she reported the matter to the police at Satellite Police Station. She had reported that her son, Al-ameen Ayinde, had been abducted by a stranger.


It was gathered that the incident occurred at No. 10, Baale Street. However the teenager who stole a 3-year-old boy after punching his mother in the face, denied the allegation that he stole the boy. According to him, he picked the boy to show him direction to the location he was seeking. He further claimed that he didn’t know the exact place he was going, and decided to ask the three-year-old boy. 


The distraught mother's shout after the abduction, attracted a nearby police patrol team from Satellite Division led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). The police immediately arrested the suspect and rescued the child. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana,  who confirmed the incident, said the case of the stolen child was reported at Satellite Police Station.
