I instinctively slowed down scanning the landscape to see where the action was coming from. Then my eye caught an out of control 2008 Toyota Camry on the service lane... Everything was in full view. I had slowed down to the point where there was no threat to me. I was only watching and praying that nothing happened 2 Likes |

Then all of a sudden this Toyota Camry swerved over the low barrier between the service and fast lane. Things were happening so fast yet it was almost as though time froze. It seemed unreal to me, but there I was. Fellow motorists had slown down too and it was as though everyone held their breaths. I was in front of the pile with a front-row view. 1 Like |

This guy did a complete 180 spin facing exactly the direction he entered the fast lane from. There was screeching everywhere! At this point it was looking like a car chase scene out of a movie. 2 Likes |

I actually felt something in the suspension would break from the abnormal movements. However, what I found a bit funny was that as soon as the 180 spin was complete, the guy drove the Camry back into the service lane, good enough he was directly facing the entry to the fast lane. I had a view of the guy, he didn't look startled as he made his way into the service lane 1 Like |

I kept thinking did he doze off or what? Then I saw him exchanging words with a driver of one of the green Mazda taxis that litter Abuja. This exchange was calm and didn't come across as heated. It didn't seem like the green cab caused the incident. I thanked God there was no "accident" and zoomed off. After this, I kind of thought better of the Camry. The car was just short of starting a barrel roll but rather did a 180. The End 2 Likes |

I have a feeling that he was driving a camry hybrid with a faulty brake actuator or stroke sensor, disengaged front brakes, unequal brakes pressure to the rear, and then attempted to brake suddenly on a speed that is not low. |

eherbal: na wah for u oh, u never watch transporter? A German machine will immediately sense that something is off thru it's "Something off" sensor.. then while drifting 180 via it's Auto drift function, it'll make coffee for the driver while auto switching to panoramic view..... the most amazing thing is, it'll immediately call up Siri..... : Hello Sir, Please note that I am switching the vehicle functions to auto mode, please relax and enjoy the view! eherbal: It's not a function of the car, it's physics at work, and also drivers skills also aided the car not catastrophic flipping over rather to do a 180°. I've seen quite a number of Benz flipping and somersaulting. The most recent was a GLK which tried to dodge a pothole around January just before Ogbula offor. The SUV was a total write off, roof was crushed flat occupants didn't make it out alive. |
