At least people watched those matches not that they were told by Nigerians sites known for fake news. If his numbers are so easy to throw around then they must be up somewhere. Are you telling me Chelsea doesn't record it's youth players stats? That would be a bold face lie because they keep other young players stats. 30-Goal Chelsea Winger Commits International Future To Nigeria Over England

Published: April 02, 2019

Chelsea prodigy Adrian Akande has committed his international future to Nigeria despite being courted by the English Football Association, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.

Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba closely monitored the highly-rated winger in Abuja for about one week, with a view to naming him on the roster for the upcoming Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania.

Akande arrived the Nigeria U17s camp with a huge reputation, having netted an impressive 30 goals in 42 games for Chelsea's youth teams this season, while providing 22 assists.

''Adrian has been called for five England camps and has rejected all of them in hope of playing for Nigeria,'' Adrian's agent, Tobi Alabi who used to play for Millwall, told allnigeriasoccer.com.

Akande has certainly shown signs that he could cut it as a professional footballer as he has drawn comparisons to Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard and Barcelona's Ousmane Dembélé.

''He plays like Hazard and Barcelona's Dembele. He is two-footed, very quick and strong on the ball. He can score the same, with both right foot and left foot and he is a hard worker.

''He has no weaknesses. I saw a mention that defensively he isn’t strong but he’s not a defender, he’s an attacker so his defensive capabilities aren’t important, of course he will work hard for his team but he’s not a defender, '' added Alabi.

Adrian Akande played for the youth team of Crystal Palace before transferring to Chelsea at the age of twelve.

Good, so tell me, how would u know there were no better players since he decided to limit his scouting to Lagos? What happened to his 2013 format that birthed our best U17 crop? U dont expect a poor 15/16year old kid from Akwa Ibom, Enugu, PH, Owerri, Aba, Asaba, Umuahia, Onitsha etc to embark on a journey to far away Lagos, do you? U know the cost, the dangers and all. Last time Manu tested success he had camps in almost all the 6goeoolotical zones for proximity purpose, hence giving every kid a chance. How many Academies did he visit outside Lagos abi Nigeria revolves around Lagos? Mind u dis isnt about tribe or religion buh, zone, hence even the Igbo/igboid names u see on his list were not brought up in the SE buh Lagos and its environs. He picked most of his players from Lagos Academies and I even read an Academy has about five of their players in that team. This aint just laziness, Manu is on something. Bros there are cities in Nigeria that u dont joke with bkus they are always there to provide us with abundant quality talents; Jos, Owerri, Enugu, Asaba, Benin, Lagos, Kaduna are the primary cities, hence they deserve some sort of special attentions. From history, naijas best talents have always come from these cities, no disrespect to other cities.

That aside, how do u xplain the treatment he meted on a boy who left a tourney with England u16 for this AYC? Bkus Manu knew there would be no money to make on him, he decided to bench him to display his boys to the scouts for his own selfish interests, knowing full well that we are on a heated battle with the English FA for his services. Not even a minute of a game time to captie him and give him that Sense of belonging.

If Garba didn't open camp in all the six regions then he is a very lazy coach or perhaps NFF didn't provide funds for him to do so.

However, I will suggest we have Zonal U17 competitions in all the regions and pick best players from the top 3 teams.

It should start will U17 competition within each states local governments. After which the state selects the best to represent their state in their regional competition. From there they can pick the best to represent their region in the other to compete with the other regions.

I believe by the time the coaching crew finish seeing all the matches, we will pick the best.

In this case, Manu or any other coache can't but pick the best players from the team because everybody would have assessed and identified the players from the process.

There will be minimal bribe to get players into the team and the state will help to relieve nff of funds

I made it very clear that even with the red card, Leicester City were not offensive enough and my fear is that when they took Ndidi off, they played better.

With or without the red card, there is a possibility Ndidi would have been taking off if they wanted to play in a more aggressive fashion.

I wonder how a straight answer would be at play here.

A team had a man advantage and introduced an attacking player (because they could afford the luxury of a man advantage),, were they supposed to play worse??

Kante has been shifted from his role and given a more advanced role at Chelsea,, does that make him less of the player he is?? Just get off this boy's back and let him do what he can do best instead of raising a very false and unnecessary alarm like we are talking of a greenhorn player here.. Ndidi has paid his dues and getting subbed off at HT doesn't mean his position in that team is under any threat.. Rogers won't even want to shoot himself in the head as it will be a tactical suicide to undermine Ndidi's contribution to that his team's setup..

Manu Garba has provided good U17 football teams for us over the years and we haven't really heard any complaints...until this competition.
Now he is corrupt, looking for egunje, lazy, refusing to screen in all the 36 states, refusing to carry players from the SE and SS, has a godfather, has a preference for players born in Nigeria, etc. It's basically open season on Manu Garba.

First of all, camp opened late so there was no time for open screening. According to the links below, Manu and his assistants were ready to start but the NFF delayed them.

http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27463

http://owngoalnigeria.com/2018/02/15/manu-garba-speaks-on-chances-of-nigerian-players-born-abroad-making-his-u17-team-open-screening/

Someone said that Manu only considered players in Lagos and can you really blame him? If you needed a good sample size and you had to pick one location where you could see a good representation of young Nigerians you'd probably pick Lagos too.
Think about it, Lagos is the most populous state and it is home to a good number of Nigerians from different parts of Nigeria.

Imo, most of these complaints started when Lateef was dropped. Most people only waited until they could get to the point where they could say, "I told you so."
But how many of you actually watched the screening? How many of you watched them in camp? The fact that someone is more popular does not make him a better player than someone whose skills/efforts have gone unnoticed.

I'm sorry but the whole godfather thing makes no sense to me. To begin with, it's two against one. Secondly, Pinick is the boss here. And finally, why are we just hearing about it? Manu has been the U17 coach for a number of years and no one has complained of this until today. We didn't even hear of this when Manu coached the U20 side and benched Iheanacho and co.

Someone even said that maybe Manu's scouts are here that is why people are supporting evil. People have the right to support who they want. That you think Manu did wrong does not mean that others share your opinion. It does not mean that Manu even did wrong.

Don't get me wrong, Manu Garba is not perfect and he is not above criticism but that criticism needs to be fair and constructive. Many things said here can easily be verified by people in the know or by interviews we have access to. The fact that we are upset does not give us the right to throw unsubstantiated accusations around. If you are going to go on about how evil Manu is, do your due diligence and back it up with proof. You don't get to accuse others of whatever you like because they see or do things differently.

Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. You, me, and yes, Manu Garba.
