I was a house parent too and I must write, not type o, my lesson notes for all the subjects every week. The experience I gathered there opened a door for me at a school in Lagos with a better pay. I also worked in a school where I taught ICT (Pry 3-6, year 7 - 12). I must also write lesson notes every week for each class. Today, I teach in one of the leading sixth form schools in Lagos. At the moment, I'm talking to a school outside the country though I'm not desperate to travel out. What has been opening these doors, God and experience. Nobody will employ you based on what you are earning but based on your experience. Your experience determines your worth! You can't put information about your salary on your CV but you can include all your work experience there. Let us momentarily sacrifice pay for experience. We'll reap the benefits if we are not weary.

ikotun is quite far... The school is somewhere at akesan area... Not sure the pay will be worth the stress.

Its a FACT that teachers are underpaid. Hardly is there a teacher that would ever earn 200k as monthly salary in his entire life time no matter his/her years of experience!

I dont blame schools, i blame teachers and person who lack skills, wisdom, courage and vision, and have agreed to be treated like donkeys

I am not saying teachers cant teach 2/3 subjects.

I m not saying schools should not make profit.

i am not saying teachers shouldnt start small.

i am saying that you people should stop taking advantage of the "no job " situation in the country.

If you will pay a token, why not employ NCE graduates strictly.

If you want better , then pay better.
