All i see here are luxury cars. My brother. Your 1.5Million doesnt actually matter. What you Actually ignored is what matters mostly.

A reliable car is as good as it's maintainace culture, if u can afford it.

Forget the money you have at hand, put their future maintanance and cost first, then decide the exact car that suits your budget.

Well, if i was in your dream, lets say we ignore Maintenance cost as u have specified i.e you have got enough cash to throw around, then.. Option 2 (2004 - 2009 Mercedes Benz E class) will serve you well and you will never for once in your life think about using another brand of vehicle other than benz at your next upgrade. smiley Trust me.

But in reality, buying a previously naija used luxurious vehicle at 1.5M without considering maintanance cost afterward. Either u wound the car mechanically, electrically plus physically or the car wounds you Emotionally and finacially plus in physical.. One will surely happen. cheesy

For me I'll rather go for a 2007-2010 gazzuzz used Corolla or Camry and if you can top some money to what you've budgeted then 2008 Lexus ES350 won't hurt.

Ps: to answer your question perform and performance are the same thing. Perform is just the verb form of the noun performance.


I am very sure i didnt say Benz is an unreliable car.

What am saying is, reliability is relative. You have to put one car against another.

On reliability, Lexus vs Benz, Lexus wins

On performance, Lexus vs Benz, Benz wins

The fact that Lexus won reliability against Benz does not mean Benz is totally unreliable or that Lexus is totally non performing.

On reliability Benz vs BMW, i say Benz wins. So this means that reliability or performance is simply relative.

My point basically is that when you combine reliability and performance, you will have to compromise on each of them.

Among your list of Cars, BMW is the best performance car but the least reliable. Eliminating it from your list means you have compromised performance for reliability.

To get a car that is both reliable and performing, you rate the cars according to performance side by side as you rate the cars on reliability. Score them 5 as best to 1 as worst. Add the score on both list and the car with the highest points is your choice.

Let me do it for you

Performance
BMW 5
Benz 4
Audi 3
Lexus 2
Infinity 1

Reliability
Lexus 5
Infinity 4
Benz 3
Audi 2
BMW 1

Total
Lexus 7
Benz 7
BMW 6
Infinity 5

Your choice is between the Benz and Lexus. You still have to finally decide whether you want reliability or performance.

Toyota Camry 2.2 is ok both maintenance and fuel consumption wise....6yrs experience speaks 4 me..... secondly I will recommend Lexus 300 car....it's da bomb. It should be around 1.6m at old spare parts market onitsha. Tnk me later

You are right. This is why ppl suffers with there car. Unless you are lucky to buy from a distress user who simply needs money. If not luxury car at this range have higher fault possibility

I have used my c230k for 5 years and if you see it,you might just wanna steal it wink
I maintain it like a child(very well maintained) and keep it clean always.
And always remember to floor the beast once in a while.
Ask people like kingreign,heavenlybang and co.
They know I put good money to keep the wheels spinning(I don't cut corners!).
The question now is can you?if you can and by your write up,you could,then I would suggest you go ahead.
You won't regret it

Please don't ignore maintance cost while choosing the car to buy. No matter how reliable the car is. Maintance cost is important.

Maintance here is not only the oil and filter but the price of parts too. Like the absorber, the lights, sensors e.t.c

Option 2 is cool....Benz na Baba any day anytime.

2004 to 2009 Benz E 'll be a good one, rugged and performance is top notch. Maintenance is quite ok provided you have a good mechanic.

Guy be been dey ask for advice from His choice of cars listed people dey advice corolla, civic, Camry, rav 4. No be everybody like all this kind poverty low class economy cars abeg.

With that amount (1.5), if u want to enjoy the money go for a corolla or camery. U can also try some Honda accord or civic but corolla and camery will be beta option.

If u really want a good luxury car then save up to @least 3M. None Toyota (Lexus included) and Honda cars with high milage will likely start having engine problems which nobody want.
