I don't think Barca played poorly. They had a tactics and they implemented it to perfection. No matter what your tactics are in a two-legged affair such as this, you don't want your opponent to score in ur home. That was the main target. We'll be fools to imagine Liverpool does not have the firepower to score and they have only lost a game all season. They must be doing alot of things right.

When they like a player, they defend everything about him. Had it been Coutinho that missed that chance, we would have been reading thread upon threads about how useless he is.

Tactically, Valverde got it right but somehow, we still outtalented them. I don't think they can come back from this, but we should be under no illusions that they will not try. Nobody will see them as failures so we better be on alert.

no, there are situations where it makes no sense to pass back. My problem isn't in passing back but passing back when it is easier to score.

Messi drags defenders with him to set you up clean on goal and you instead try to pass back to Messi with the defenders around him. I don't think it's the same thing as passing to Messi when other players are open.
