forgiveness: I think, those 2 are sure of making the team baring injury. Unfortunately, some of the others are considered too young to make the team. Example 17 year old goalkeeper, Jonathan Zaccala is considered one for the future and too young for the team. But we keep Detan Ogundare who is already in his 30s in the team. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:You are a gud analyst but ur obvious bias wen pep, city, or iheanacho is mentioned isnt doing ur reputation any gud broda... It will make ppl like me who rili look at ur sound judgement to dismiss ur comments without reading dem... So ask urself, are those 3 rili worth it?... D guy said guardiola is a gud manager which is true, but he is not klopp... Klopp for me is beta... Great manager dat can create something out of nothing... Add small money to his purse and he does wonders... Guardiola cannot do dat nd u nd i know its true ..... If not for how much he was allowed to spend... He will not be fighting for this epl title nd u know it.... If he was given same amount as klopp, even tho his baseline man city was already beta dan d baseline liverpool klopp inherited, he would have flopped badly. 4 Likes |

tbaba1234: What is the purpose of this age grade competitions? Is it not to expose these so called too young talented players to the world and hope that they develop into world class players that will be useful for a very long time in both the national team and club? Why do our Nigerian coaches want to sell us old expired players that will not last long before they worn out and finally get expired? I think NFF is to be blamed for this. They should call Paul Aigbogun to order. We don't want to win the WYC with old expired players. It seems there are many foreign born players in the camp. I didn't even know Jonathan Zaccala is in the camp. I expected Paul Aigbogun to call Arthur Okonkwo who is already training with Arsenal first team but no he wan carry grandfafa go world cup. What a shame. 4 Likes |

Lucque: First of all, I stand for the truth than build a reputation to appease people. Guardiola, Nacho or whoever is not worth as much as the truth. I will always stand for the truth. The idea that Guardiola would flop without money is far from fact. Purely fiction and you have no statistical backing to prove that. Guardiola lost five defenders due to age coupled with the fact he was using Kolarov as a central defender to steady the ship. Shows his ability to deal with pressure. Guardiola had to replace those players, not buying to bolster his squad. The likes of Bernardo, Sane, Gabby Jesus are young players which are to make an impact later. Even Mahrez is not a regular in the squad but someone with the sight for the future. So where the idea of Guardiola needing money to excel comes from baffles me. Klopp has actually been the one spending to build the formidability of his team. They are both fantastic managers and I will not run both for buying because all coaches need to spend to compete at the highest stage. You can not crucify one for buying and praise another for doing the same. That shows bias and not standing for the truth. 4 Likes |

forgiveness: Ofoborh is top top class, sure to make the team after his performance yesterday. Hamdi Akujobi will be dropped, no space for him. So Kingsley Michael, Jamil Muhammad, Ofoborh and Tom dele bashiru are your midfielders. Ash Kigbu was not released by his club. Baba Henry Offia is a sure banker. Success Makanjuola is likely to make the team too. 1 Like |

well like all of us sometimes they are right but a times they are way off the mark. on the iheanacho issue we thought KC was doing decently but sadly his form has dropped. even some of their favourites who they were hyping as the next big thing haven't come good so it cuts both ways. how is it breaking news that some of our local coaches are corrupt? what i always argued against is them using the corruption tag as an excuse for average or below average players they like not called up. on the league ranking issue la liga is still better. UCL finalists from spain twice in the past 10 whereas this is the EPL's first in a decade. Spanish finalists 9 in 10 EPL 7. Europa league spanish clubs won 6 in the last 10 years england 2 barring this years own. bro solanke is one in many they have gotten wrong AIG07: 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: you are not really getting the point. pep for me is the best coach currently but to be honest, his quick successes in the EPL is largely due to the amount of cash at his disposal. the replacements were necessary and justifiable but pep was able to carryout the cleansing exercise quickly because there was cash available to do that. look at Arsenal for example, the coach will have to work with the players he has despite everyone knowing the players are not really good enough. It will take Emery several transfer windows to get the squad of his own choice. in all honesty do you think pep would have achieved this much with city if he was handed 70m as transfer budget? pep would have eventually transformed city but it would have taken time like say 2 to 3 seasons to get them to this current level. 1 Like |

the point goodjoe is making is that other clubs are also not spending peanuts everyone has spent big to compete. when it gets to that point it's then coaching ability that will separate men from boys. let's even analyze who were the lynchpins for pep's success last season aguero, sterling, david silva, de-bruye, fernadinho, Kompany was it pep that bought all these guys? one thing i always find funny is why the same energy is not maintained to criticize mourinho, alex ferguson, ancelloti to say they bought the league Bunique: 2 Likes |

chrisooblog: You are so correct! The core of his squad is the one he inherited. The rest are to augment the depth. He literally improved every single player in the club. All of them have exceeded their past performances bar none. I don't understand all these lies about money. The only player City signed this season was Mahrez. Add to that, KDB who was City's best player last year was out for long yet they are going to peep LFC to the title. How many times the key players go down and yet Pep reinvented the squad to compete. I don't know how people don't see that as great coaching. Someone even tried to make Zinczenko look like a formidable buy. A winger that Pep has turned to a LB. I can't deal. Liverpool are having their best ever season historically (at least by numbers) but they are still behind this juggernaut called City. Somehow people forget the quality of City's play and make it look like City were always this way. I mean, every English team spent money. Chelsea have spent more in the last 2 seasons than City but nobody says peem about them. 1 Like |

andrew444:I have maintained Pep is a good manager but I wont over celebrate his success because that was expected after the massive investment by the Abu Dabi group. By the way you didn't get back to me on Liverpool's league position when Klopp took over. I want to hear you say it. |

bazooka1: Sorry please remind me about the Liverpool league position Klopp improved Liverpool ,no doubt And mind you despite my love for pep ,jurgen klopp is a great coach and one of the best in the world People always say Messi helped pep to win champions league ,but Messi has not help velverde to win it for Barcelona ,despite Messi brilliance this season Barca can't even get to the final ,now imagine if pep is with Barca you think they will throw away 3-0 lead I await your response |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chrisooblog: 3:36pm On May 09, 2019 |
as in honestly! kloop spent almost $200m for a keeper and defender but pep is the one buying the league. mahrez like you rightly noted hasn't even been that impactful for man city. you are so right alot of his haters always decide to develop glaucoma not noticing how much sterling has improved to beast mode. even the "anybody can win stuff with messi" jibe they love to throw they won't tell you what were messi's numbers before pep came and how messi was pushing out unreal numbers under guardiola.
