komekn: many who defend Nigeria coaches will troop in to tell you that the boy is truly 17 years old soon. you see these expectations on getting cuts from players signings is killing our football. our coaches are getting corrupt by the day. I so much distaste indigenous coaches ehhh. |

Bolowolowo: I'm not convinced by Iwobi's performances on the average, over most of the season. He needs to put in more. Though I still think he's better at 10 than either wing. |

Earthquake2: Allison and VVD are not full backs. Liverpool spent just £8m on full backs : Arnold =free Gomez=free Robertson =8m While Man city spent €150m acquiring Danilo, Walker and Mendy. 3 Likes |

bazooka1: The matter is how much you spent, not where you spent them |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:34am On May 10, 2019 |
bazooka1: Liverpool already had Clyne, Moreno and Lovren (who was Liverpool's most expensive defender before Van Dijk. So they could afford to get young players and groom them in years. Especially Arnold. Manchester City lost Demichelis, Sagna, Zabaleta, Clichy, Kolarov and had to spend to rebuild. We lost four full backs and bought three. How that equates to blank check buying is mysterious. The fact is very clear but you have decided to dwell on the false narrative. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:Why didn't Man city groom players while Sagna, Zabaleta and co were there? |

bazooka1: Guardiola was not the coach during the time of their plays. The point is we lost four full backs and replaced with three. Accept you blank check theory is false and move on. Even after Klopp has spent much, I will not use the players he signed to run him down because he is a brilliant manager. Finito. |

TheGoodJoe:But in that time, he has totally revived the careers of presumed dead weights like Henderson and Milner. Brought through players like Gomez and Arnold from the academy. Plucked Robertson from relative obscurity from a relegated Hull City or something and turned him to world class full back. All these he achieved before spending on top players like VVD and co. This is what I mean by solid management, the ability to mix it up and achieve success. That is why I strongly believe he has made more impact than Pep. Thank you 2 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe:How much have Pep spent since arriving at City? How much have he sold to recuperate some funds and balance books, you know like every other team. If he doesn't have to balance books, then he has a blank check. That's my take. 3 Likes |
