Kano Emirate covers the 44 local government areas of Kano, and with the creation of the 4 new Emirates, Kano Emirate will cover 10 local government areas. Which of the Chairmen is the Emir supposed to report to? If the Emir is overseeing all the LGs in the state, it only makes sense that he reports to either the governor, deputy governor or one of the commissioners, as he can't be reporting to the 44 LG chairmen.

But what's the role of the emir then when there are already local government chairmen and commissioners? Just asking.

Shut up and go and read the Constitution of The Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended). The Governor does not have the power,the decision was made by the state House of Assembly who are the Representatives of the people of Kano State.

Not true, the Ooni and Alaafin has been deposed before by the old Western region government. Even the sultan of Sokoto has also be deposed before. Any king that comes to the throne by political appointment can easily be suspended/removed and replaced by another politically appointed king.

The reason any suspension/removal will not work with the Oba of Benin is because he is never politically appointed. He is born to rule and the people are solidly behind him and any usurper will automatically be declared enemy of the people, how can anyone be a king to people that see him as enemy. The British tried to change the Benin dynasty in 1897, the Benin resisted it and it didn't work. After they removed the Oba to Calabar, the throne remained vacant for 17 years, nobody occupied it, after Oba Ovoramwen's death the eldest son/crown prince took over the throne in 1914.
