When the Oba of Ikeja died, they closed all shops in Computer village. Some Igbo Chiefs who resisted were flogged and their shops closed. They paid heavily for them to be reopened.

You can keep making mouth here on Nairaland but the truth is that Yorubas have your daddies by the balls. All we gotta do is squeeze harder.

Lmao. This boy eh! U made me pee on my boxers. grin

The mansions your fathers built in port Harcourt and warri, why didn't you go there and collect them?

You think because you build a house on a land, you own the land? You have failed to learn from the generational foolishness of your fathers, rather you inherited it.

Go and ask Ojukwu to tell you what happened to Louis' properties in Lagos.
....

no need to argue with you...

you guys can never!,I repeat can never be like the Igbos....

We are first humans before tribe and religion.

Your spirit isn't Yoruba, Igbo nor hausa; just your decaying physical body identifies with a tribal or racial division.

Do not fill your heart with hate over fleeting matters like tribal delineation. Love mankind, enjoy the company of your fellow humans and life would reward you with the true blessing of friendship.

To be human is to learn to forgive the mistakes and failures of men and their tribal tendencies. Our blood would always run red, humanity and tribalism is just for this short fleeting time we are on the earth surface above the grave and it's enclosing casket.

Blessed be.

Okoyeebo:
Where are those Igbos saying Lagos is no-man's land?

You come to our land, we host you, you make money only for you to turn around and insult our traditional institutions and call Lagos no man's land.

Obiano specifically called Lagos no man's land and Igbos supported him. Eventually, he kicked Ebonyi okada riders out and renamed Abakaliki Street to Club street.

The kind of hospitality we have given you economic refugees, Igbos from other states can't enjoy it in Anambra and vice versa.

Let me tell you guys, ALL markets in Lagos would have Iyalojas and Babalojas. If you don't like it, get da feck out of Lagos.

By the time all our markets fall under traditional Yoruba leadership, let me see the Igbo man with guts to call Lagos no man's land.

Yes we envy you so much that we are migrating to the east in droves.

Shut up! Kids are not so difficult to decipher on Nairaland. Nigerians, young and old are round the world winning political offices in FOREIGN COUNTRIES you're here forming local champion. When you die carry Lagos put for pocket na! Omo oshi! Idiots like you make the rest of the country believe Yorubas envy Igbos whereas it's not the case. undecided

I can actually throw down insults bt it’s pure waste of my time cos that’s not effective communication to me. How does the insults address the issues on ground? It just seems weak, lame or childish to me.

Iyaloja or whatever shud not be handling a computer hub/market. What value can she add? Or probably she only came to collect? They are not selling tomatoes. What does she know about computers? Bunch of illiterates in power. That’s the problem with our country.

We have a serious problem.
Read the article well because I think you have comprehension issues.

This is one of the reasons you guys would continue to have issues with your hosts wherever you go. The concept of Iya/Babaloja is alien to Igbos while it is somewhat traditional to the Yorùbás. It is an age long practice. That you have Igbos in the market does not mean you have a stake in it.

What you're asking is similar to demanding that an Igbo man be made Baálè of a community in Yorubaland just because it is saturated by Igbos. Oko ó le je ti baba t'omo kó ma l'ala (Transliteration: No matter how comfortable you are in a place, there is a limit to which you can act).

You guys must learn to tread with caution and do away with this annoying false sense of entitlement.

Then go and open a shop in computer village.
Yoighaman:

Bro/Sist...but that can't be true, pay rent to her because she is your landlord? Pay her security levies? How and why? Evict you? She ain't your landlord, same applies to increasing your rent. Pay her for cleaning? Does she operate a cleaning company for the entire market?

Obviously there are benefits but none of those you have mentioned.

The position bestows on her great influence and implied gains but again not those you mentioned.

I need specifics.

Have you heard me say "Lagos is a no man's land"?

I know and have many Awori and Yoruba friends. So, I know better.

Saying you have Awori and Yoruba friends is just like a Yoruba man saying he has:

Nri and Igbo friends.

It just doesn't make sense because one is a sub-group of the other.

Be informed!

Iyaloja or no Iyaloja
Babaloja or no Babaloja
What I am 100% certain of is that

1. ALABA International Market/TRADEFAIR is a NO GO AREA for this NONSENSE

2. Neither TINUBU or any other YORUBA will succeed Buhari

I seriously don't see any fuse with the newly installed iyaloja. I mean she is well equipped, vast and understands CV market well, being one of the Pioneer would be a great benefits to the place.

I was there yesterday and I can see some improvement in terms of infrastructure. With time, security challenges will be resolved and the environment will be serene enough for customers. This is what we hope for to happen in the market.

I don't know why some set of people are aggrieved with her installment. It's not as if she has increased tax or something.

That's why Obiano seized your daddy's okada in Anambra.

You Igbos don't love yourselves and so, why should we give Igbos what fellow Igbos can't give them?
You keep saying "we". Who are the we? You? I laugh.
You mention my "daddy"? I pity you. As far back as the 70ties my three times holiday in the uk by my "Daddy" was spent in 25 longdeen Park Hemel Hempstead. Hertford share in an exclusive gated community in the uk with a rolls and Mercedes parked in the driveway. Shopping by my "daddy" at Harold's.
Where was your "daddy" then and where is he now?
