andrew444: Firstly Iheanacho had a poor WC outing and I don't think there is anyone here who thinks otherwise. Ighalo just like Iheanacho also had a poor WC outing but the reason Ighalo received the highest bashing was because of that miss against Argentina. That singular miss was largely responsible for our early WC exit. And i don't see anything wrong I the criticism he received because of that. If it was Iheanacho that missed that Golden opportunity am I sure he would not have been spared of the criticisms either. So I still do not see any Tribal connect in this case. On celebrating of players' injury I have had it hot with peeps here in times past when they celebrated Ezenwa and, Iheanacho's injuries. These are two other players who are not in the good books of people. Celebrating a Nigerian player is highly condemnable but so also is calling someone a "BASTERED". 2 Likes |

By: Oma Akatugba, Germany David Alaba* Bayern Munich left back and Austrian international, David Alaba has tagged reports of Nigerian U-17 coaches demanding bribe from his as ‘FAKE’. Alaba, in an exclusive interview with OmaSport said the news is unsubstantiated and false. When quizzed on the veracity of the now viral report, fast making the rounds, Alaba who is on the cusp of earning his 8th league title with the Bavarians said; ‘'No! They didn’t demand money from me. It’s fake news.” Recall that reports on Nigerian locals had flown round about cadet coaches demanding money from Alaba to make him represent the U-17 national team in the 2007 U-17 World Cup. http://omasports.com/index.php/2019/05/11/its-fake-news-nigerian-u-17-coaches-never-demanded-money-from-me/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk3CVW6HcjQ |

Starboytwo: The problem is not about winning but selecting the best players in the right age grade to groom quality players for the Super Eagles. Going with possible over age players defeats this ambition. Finito. 3 Likes |

Oma Akatugba also deserves praise for this fantastic journalism work. Clarification is a big part of the work and he will remain blessed for saving the memory of the great Yemi Tella who delivered the U17 title that year in question. Gracias Bro. 5 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:Thegoodjoe you are a real Naija and i will always respect you for your incisive views on issues not those who always castigate our coaches as if we don’t know what happened during Westerhoff/Bonfrere era. Dosu Joseph made Atlanta 96 based on a deal between Churchill Oliseh and Jo Bonfrere. Asked Chidi Nwanu what took him to make US94 when Westerhoff paraded mediocre like Isaac Semitoje and very averaged Uche Okafor at Tunisia 94. Keshi won Afcon for God sake and took us to 2nd round at WC but some would still be telling us type of players Keshi took to Afcon and WC. Do we need to go to Trousier,Vogts,Libregths era where some players invitations are questionable Truly foreign coaches are better but when it comes to deals they are also culprits with shady deals. Respect thegoodjoe and Bascovanvelli for always comes out to say something good about our coaches despite their shortcomings. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Alex Iwobi should leave Arsenal if he wants to reach his potential. I also think he should leave England altogether and really find himself. He can do way much better than he is doing now. |

BascoVanVeli: I don't think he can cope outside England, I think he should go to another English team, he feels too comfortable at Arsenal being born and bred as a youth product |

Earthquake2: Spain fits him more than England. Plus why wouldn't he be able to cope in another country? The boy never reach aje buh like that na if he can do two weeks in Nigeria then I'm sure he can handle 50 years in another European country. |
