Anyway, kazi, I struggled to understand how dogs and cats make you doubt the idea. I mean, it rains cats and dogs so why would dogs and cats evolving be a big deal? Also, the gap between chimp and and human brain should not be an issue unless you havent done some reading on the topic. We and chimps are cousins who descend from a common ancestor. They are not our forerunners. We were doing this evolution thingy together concurrently and its still ongoing.

Thats why I began by telling kazi he has every right to question evolution. Even falsify it. So I was not trying to force it on him. Evolution needs no faith at all. Just facts and evidence so its actually wrong to juxtapose it with religion. Yes religion has eaten up the world on the whole sometimes I wonder how a world without religion would be like. Maybe it would be like the Scandinavian countries where people mostly use their brains

sure, evolution and religion aren't d same, one is a theory while d other is a form of belief. but when evolution is discussed, religion follow... Unless discussed by geeks who don't believe in a supernatural skydaddy.

But on a serious note, a Renaissance period is also needed in this part of the world. A time when we believe in ourselves and our own capacity to do things, as u rightly said; use our brain.

Housed outside Fort Jesus is a cannon from HMS Pegasus a 2000 ton British cruiser. HMS Pegasus an elderly 2000 ton Third Class cruiser was sunk on the afternoon of 20 September 1914 off Zanzibar harbour by the 3000 ton German cruiser SMS Königsberg. A floating crane was used to retrieve the eight 4 inch guns and after a short period of reuse one was presented to the town of Mombasa.

Luck soon ran out for the Königsberg it was destroyed by a combined naval aerial and ship bombardment. A 4 inch gun salvaged from the sunken Königsberg also stands outside Fort Jesus.
