raumdeuter: Typical press conference platitudes. Nowhere in the stuff you quoted did Conte say he signed him. There are many other articles that make clear that Drinkwater is not a Conte signing. |

Ibime: Ibime, you said Bernardo was not good after the Bournemouth game that City won 2-1 at the 95th minute (I recall that post vividly). I saw some of you say CR7 was in a one-man team in Portugal. Today, Bernado is top 20 -because he plays for Pep. You insulted Sterling, Stones, Otamendi, City have barely had a natural LB for 2 seasons. Yet you are telling us Djibouti budget. If Marcus Alonso played for City, Pep would have used him over Delph and Zinchenko. Guess what you would have said today? That he is top 20. I am seeing you quoting a post about Net spend. Ibime the mathematician, what does Netspend have to do with anything? If City sells Iheanacho for 25M and Bony for whatever amount and buy Gab Jesus for 27M it will still be drowned by the signing of Mendy and Walker even when City sold 4 full backs before buying those 2. The simple reason is because you are selling dead wood which have no value. You guys are now lying that Conte did not want to sell Matic even when Conte was the one who sold Matic. The only difference is Conte wanted Matic sold to Juve not United. But CFC board sold to United. You are sidestepping the fact that Conte bought Bakayoko and was planning to even when Matic was there. You people should keep blowing hot air. My joy is, you are trying to downplay Pep from a position of his victory. Just imagine if he did not win, you may have had a case. 6 Likes |

Eruditor: Rubbish and oversimplification. Go and ask Nihilist about our famous Sterling vs Oscar debate that ran for years. I was on record here saying Sterling is in the top 3 AMs under 23 in 2014 which prompted people to say Oscar is better and led to a 4 year debate on Sterling vs Oscar. What is the context of Bernardo quote? Otamendi is a rubbish defender in almost everything Stones is a poor defender who is good on the ball. When you play in a possession team who hardly get attacked, that does not matter so much so he is good to go for what Pep uses him for, just like other defenders I fundamentally dislike like Ramos and Pique. |

Ibime: For whatever you thought about Sterling, he was a 5 goals a season player which is part of why Pep finished 3rd despite his team creating the most chances in the league. Then he worked on that same Sterling to the statistical juggernaut he is today. Instead of accepting that the manager has proven his mettle. You are now telling us that the player is and has always been top 3 in your eyes. Here is the poignant hypocrisy: when the manager did not do well you said he failed despite having players who are "top 3". Now that he has won resoundingly you say " he won because he has top 3 players". Ibime, when is he supposed to win? When he does not have players at all? 7 Likes |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Eruditor: 2:56pm On May 15, 2019 |
Ibime: But he was used as a winger for the most part this season and scored at least 9 goals in all competitions. He did not reduce their total goals and in fact, according to his manager, was the best player this season. If his fraud manager could use him in that role you said he won't be good at to win 98points, should that manager not get any credit? 4 Likes |

Eruditor: Don't bring me discussing needs of Chelsea into wider context. This is just an excerpt of us discussing what would be the best fit for Chelsea. We are already overstocked with ball-to-feet wingers who like to come inside. Bernardo is basically another no10 who plays on wings. We already have that in Hazard and Willian. What Chelsea need more of is a flying winger like Son, Sterling, Mane, Sane, Salah type. City already have 2 of those, so Bernardo is a better fit for them as a ball-to-feet winger, but not necessarily a priority for Chelsea. I don't actually think City will even be worse if Bernardo is sat down for Sane. |

Ibime: So Pep used a winger outside of top 20 as his key man to winning 98points without the best midfielder KdB and with Fernadinho injured Can you list your top 20 midfielders as at 2017 when Bernardo joined City and dont forget to include Thomas Lemar 1 Like |

Greatihex: You have never been known to follow any thing to a logical conclusion in your entire life. Preferred to reunite with his former boss indeed. Jorginho has no say in where he is to be sold except both teams have met the same valuation set by the parent club. City agreed the 50M that Napoli claimed and Jorginho had given Pep his word that he will sign with the team (just like Sanchez). The very moment Chelsea wanted him (because Sarri asked for him) Napoli asked City and Chelsea to pay 55M for the player. City said no. Chelsea agreed, and the rest they say is history. Another signing that went the same way? De Jong to Barcelona. Pep spoke to the player (even Valverde admitted it) but when Barcelona agreed to pay that 75M, City backed out. A player they thought they could get for 60M before. You will soon tell us De Jong went to Barcelona to reunite with Cryuff's spirit. 5 Likes |

Greatihex: Sanchez was a key member of Arsenal too so? What microscopic incoherent point are you trying to voodoo-out now? Matic was a key member and they were planning to buy Bakayoko? Coutinho was a key member of Liverpool and he went what season? When Pep was already going to win the league or before? Team's better than that City: Tottenham, Chelsea easily. United and Liverpool had teams on par with that City team. |

krattoss:I'm seeing some people masturbating on this infographics.. And the most misleading method of showing data is through chart... This chart only shows the spending what about the players that has been sold? Take man united for example sold Christiano Ronaldo and many other players between those years.. Chelsea sold costa, robben and many more ( 50m I think) ... Someone would think PSG is better than the first 4 |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Ibime(m): 4:44pm On May 15, 2019 |
Eruditor: Nonsense. Walker cannot be benched by any Trippier. That's like saying Rabiot is being benched by another PSG player. Spurs knew Walker was leaving and in an acrimonious manner too having been tapped up by City, and decided to start their succession planning by giving Trippier increased minutes. If Walker is being benched by Trippier, why did City not bring £50m for Trippier instead? Trippier is even trained in City academy and would fit HG criteria better. Same way Spurs sat down Aldeweireld for a year for insisting he get paid the same money as VVD, not because any other Spurs defender is better. They did the same to Danny Rose to discipline him too. Even till today, I don't believe Leroy Sane is not a guaranteed starter for City. Sane has been tapped up by Bayern and refusing to sign new contract, so Pep will prioritise the players who will continue with the team after summer over Sane. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Eruditor: 4:49pm On May 15, 2019 |
Ibime: Conspiracy theorist at his finest. City went for Walker because it was easier to buy him than Trippier. You are right that Walker wanted to leave though. Remember Pep was going for Dani Alves, when he took PSG's offer for more money, City then went all in for Walker. So Walker was not City's first choice. Let me just put it out there. Sané tapped up by Bayern lol. Sané already told (I forget the press) that he will be in City for years after the United game. Players taking their time to sign contracts is not new. Every agent wants to eke out as much money as possible for their clients. 2 Likes |
