Many Nigerians use multiple networks, for me Glo is the grandmaster of data, MTN is still the first choice for calls |

jesmond3945:There is no monopoly here. An average customer would opt in for quality service delivery with easy access to the network. This is what other networks lack hence the major operator continues to enjoy large patronage. Forget that assumption that many Nigerians are stock to a particular service provider because that was their main line. If you watch closely, you would discover that mtn keeps adding subscribers on daily, monthly and yearly. bases.Haven't you for once thought why it keep increasing? These are what I noticed about them; 1. Mtn knows that attention is been shifted from calls to data hence to get more customers, they introduce 100% data bonus for a limited time. More customers will opt in because their browsing speed is fair in many states 2. Mtn copied it's competitors hence the introduction of yanfuyanfu plan. Infact they copied airtel's innovation including price adjustment. 3. Investing less on celebrity for publicity. You would notice that many of her ambassadors are rarely used these days on advertisements. This is as result of no positive significant impact on their sales. Many Nigerians are wise hence they would opt in for a product that would be beneficial. A good example is the recent use of two young Nigerians on their advertisements for Instagram bundle plan although such strategy may be to reduce cost . 4. Large economies of scale: They enjoy this that is why their call rates are still cheap( including international calls). They call tariffs are targeted at certain market segment unlike other operators with the exception of airtel that have high call rates. Mtn can afford to reduce it tariff to N5 and still make profit because of this however with the persistent rise in the cost of goods and services, they wouldn't consider that. Although there have been slight adjustment in two of tariffs as a result of this phenomenon. 2 Likes |

They will lose more and more customers because 1GB of data will only use just 4days and it's fully exhausted |

[quote author=JasonScoolari post=78416960]As at the end of March, MTN still remained the largest telecom operator by subscriber in the country with 37 per cent share of the market. Consistency!!! They're just like PDP, Everyone thought that they will crumble after the NCC slammed with charges worth billions of naira, (2015 Elections) but they bounced back and prove to them that they're like Muhammed Salah who's not a one season wonder. That's my preferred network and most people will agree with me that they're the best connection. [/quote . MTN hide under the fine to defraud customers, are you aware of the unsolicited caller tunes and cutting of air time after loading? is that what you call bounce back? |

To those complaining of data zapping download data monitoring apps like glasswire for android to check your data consumption. Faster data speeds such as 4g lead to faster consumption of data and some mistakenly call it zapping when their phone actually used the data either in the background or foreground. |
