FEC Approves Another $1bn Chinese Loan by themomentng: 8:07pm On May 15, 2019
The Federal Executive Council has approved another $1billion Chinese loan.

It will be sourced from the China-EXIM Bank for the Gurara II Hydropower project.

The power project is planned to generate 360 megawatts of electricity.

The Minister of Water Resources, Mr Sulieman Adamu, has just confirmed the approval of the loan by FEC.

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

I strongly applaud Federal Government on this decision but I hope and pray the loan is not given out in cash...or else.. the folktales about "yam and goat in farmhouse" will come to play. I wish the Chinese Government will deploy their skilled workers, professionals, and machineries to site and then facilitate easy technological transfer between Nigerian Engineers and Chinese Engineers...if not...your guess is as good as mine
