bixton:And that my friends is the explanation to the argument about Greyworm going on a killing spree even after the Lannister Army surrendered. Some of you need to watch scenes intently to get the full picture. Greyworm threw his spear ONLY after Dany had taken Drogon into the air and began destroying everyone and everything. He never acts on his own, always follows orders. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

bixton:She's the heir of nothing. Under Westerosi Law, no woman can lay claim to the Iron Throne. She never had any claim from the beginning. Her act of burning people is only sending a message to the people that she's as mad as her father. If she can't exercise the patience to use those other options you mention then she's not fit to rule anybody 3 Likes 1 Share |

raumdeuter:Baba oil dey your head as usual... GoT is a spectacularly impressive show, so much so because almost everything would have an explanation if one pays attention to details. Let us all remember that TYRION is the one who told Dany that once the bells are rung and the gates opened, it means the city has surrendered. This is the same Tyrion who so far this season has lost his influence and good standing with his Queen. The same Tyrion whose so-called intelligent mind has produced nothing but horrors for her. The same Tyrion who in this same episode was scolded by Dany for telling Varys about Jon's true parentage without first talking to her when he first found out. For God sakes, he is the Hand of the Queen yet so far, he has given Dany numerous reasons to distrust him. According to him, Cercei said she would fight with the North - He was wrong. According to him, Jamie should be spared for risking his life to come to Winterfell to join the fight after abandoning Cercei - He was wrong. Then the Hand of the Queen hears a secret about something that would threaten the legitimacy of his Queen, what did he do? He told the one person who is known to be a master of whispers without first informing the Queen about what he just heard. So people really thought that after all this, in combination with the death of Missandei, the loss of most of her army, the loss of her Dragons...that somehow, Dany should have listened yet again to Tyrion saying "Once the bells are rung, it means they have surrendered".. Allow me to laugh please, because anyone who thinks Tyrion still had any right to be giving wise counsel or that Dany was still obliged to believe or listen to anything he says, has definitely NOT being paying attention. Come to think of it, Jamie is the one who rang the bell. Jamie who was kept prisoner by Dany, who was then helped to escape by Tyrion. What are the possibilities that Dany hadn't already found out that Jamie had escaped as at the time the war began? Not everything has to be shown on screen, we need to infer certain things. Jamie was captured in the evening of the previous day, guarded by unsullied soldiers who Tyrion (the same Tyrion oo) dismissed, claiming he is Hand of the Queen. Jamie escaped that night using the cover of darkness. By morning or even that same night, the unsullied soldiers would have returned and found out he had escaped, reported it to their commander Greyworm, who in turn would have told Dany well before the war began. Putting everything into perspective, why should anyone call Daenerys Storm-born of House Targaryen a mad Queen for doing what she did even after the bells of surrender were rung? Give Cercei a dragon and she would have been the true mad queen in this show because we all know what she would have done. A Queen that used wild fire to bring down an entire building full of innocent spectators, is not mad. A Queen that captured Missandei and already had her in chains, but still felt the need to behead her as a show of power which was completely unnecessary, is not mad. A queen that used innocent defenceless women and children as shield to protect herself is not mad. It's now the Queen that killed these innocent defenseless women and children to get her pound of flesh, considering all the betrayals and deaths she has endured so far all because she tried to act like a reasonable ruler who cared...this is the Queen that is called mad. I laugh hysterically in the name of the old gods, the seven, the lord of light, and the new god, at how Daenerys Storm-born of House Targaryen is now called a mad Queen. crackhaus: I agree that every Northman, woman and child should know about it by now, but what about the Realm? Don't you think the rest of the Realm needs to be intimated about this information as well? Shouldn't ravens be sent, already, so that learned maesters at the Citadel are properly briefed ? Or is it that Jon and the Stark family are pussyfooting about the whole issue simply because there's shame in it for the Warden of the North? The shame that he failed as Lord Commander, and his own men mutinied against him just like Mormont? Of course everyone else in the Realm would want to know how he died. 1 Like |

crackhaus:She got away with it because most of the great houses and their great lords who would have enforced that law were decimated due to the war. But that's not the issue here. The issue is whether Daenerys even had a claim in the first place to warrant her stylizing herself as rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms right from season 1/2..and the answer is no |

Aystarz:You're shifting the conversation. In your previous comment, you were concerned about those present in the hall when Tormund made the statement, NOT the entire realm. Besides, don't you think something the Northmen and anyone in the North knows, will certainly find it's way to other parts of the realm? That's if it hasn't already. About the Maesters at the Citadel, those eunuchs seem to me like they are never current with very recent information. An example is when Sam arrived there and handed over the letter from Jon as Lord Commander sending him to the Citadel, the response from the Maester was that their records do not even show Jon as the Lord Commander. |

Hermionegranger:show where they said a woman can't rule the iron throne, anyway laws can be changed, people were the one that made the law in the first place, so it doesn't matter, dany can rule and the legitimacy of MR SHE IS MY QUEEN BLA BLA BLA is there oh, but he has to get a army to take the throne from her and the last time I check Jon does not have a army strong enough to take the throne, all he can depend on is Dany dieing so he can rule ( which he will be a terrible ruler) 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Nobody: 10:46am On May 16, 2019 |
Willie2015: @first bolded She took the same decision her father (The Mad King) took... these decisions were what made people conclude that he's mad, so if you're gonna defend Dany's actions, then you can as well defend her father's actions. On the flip side, Jon hanged his killers, the people that killed him - Jon -. A kid who is bold enough to stab a man who had a positive relationship with him is no longer a kid, and under normal circumstances, that boy will be sentenced to death in the real world. @second bolded Saving people by screaming "Dracarys" is poor decision-making. It was only going to take a little time before the switch flipped. If you followed her conversation with Tyrion in the throne room, you would see that she had made up her mind on burning Kings Landing and its people. Only Greyworm knew of it. "Mercy is our strength. Our mercy toward future generations who will never again be held hostage by a tyrant." - The Mad Queen To her, she was saving future generations - that would love her - from a tyrant by burning the present generation. If this isn't madness, i don't know what it is. @third bolded Varys served under her father, so he has the best experience when it comes to knowing the King/Queen's state of mind, which is why he was bothered about hers. He had noticed certain similarities between her and her father which were huge red flags. Jon's behavior stemmed from certain reasons... 1. Her suggestion to keep his mouth shut over his own true identity. That was actually a betrayal on her own side and showed how desperate she was for the Iron throne. 2. Her constant talk of how the people love him and don't love her. This showed clear jealousy, same jealousy her father had for Tywin Lannister because he was loved and respected over him - The Mad King - (Which was one of the things Varys noticed that bothered him) 3. She is his aunt. That's quite tough to accept with open arms. @fourth bolded There are casualties in war, but when you deliberately choose to kill people because they don't love you like those in Essos, then that's nothing but madness. The show writers made sure to show us the extent of Dany's madness when they showed that little girl hiding behind a wall, trying to avoid the dragonfire while her mother was being raped. Did you see how that girl was panting? the fear in her eyes? what did that little girl do to deserve this? did she participate in fighting for any throne? That particular scene depicted the ordeal of other children caught in the wildfire. Or Dany didn't know that there were children in Kings Landing? @fifth bolded Dany will not make a better leader than Jon Snow. 1. Jon - as King in the North - bent the knee to get the dragon glass which could save the North from the Night King. Daenerys will not bend the knee to anybody no matter what happens. 2. Jon is the people's champion, which is why he is loved by them. Dany is not, all she cares about is ruling the seven kingdoms, she believes it is her destiny. 3. Despite knowing that he - Jon - is the true heir to the throne, he still went round saying "She is my Queen". Dany on the other side, wanted him to keep shut about "his true identity", that is expecting him to live out the rest of his life without telling anyone who he is. That is the height of selfishness and deceit. Arya Stark watched her father's head get chopped off, watched her mother's throat get slit, lost her brothers - Rob & Rickon -. She didn't go around killing everybody in Kings Landing. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

blingxx:Lol, I doubt it's desperation. They have very decent shows on the network besides GoT. I see it as more about making profit, GoT has been very profitable to the network so it only makes sense to do something else that will attract a following as GoT has done. Sequels or prequels are very good ways of doing that. 1 Like |

JhyMedex: One thing has always been certain about GoT, it’s not a fairytale movie where you’ll have a happy ending and the prince marries the princess and they’ll live happily ever after, I knew this when Ned Stark died. The whole show is a movie, the producers are following a script, HBO is a multi million dollar company, they spend money and time to make this movie, hired professionals, this movie has broken so many records, set new standards so it’s funny when I see people who haven’t written a church play complaining that the movie is crap. I feel the only reason there’s so many complaints about this season is because it’s the last one, people don’t actually want it to end so they’re acting out by criticizing it. GoT is a just a movie, a great one at that, let’s just enjoy it and appreciate the work and efforts of the producers, Emilia Clark is a simple person in real life, she’s just playing her part, it’s her job, she’s an actress, people are getting too emotional about the whole thing, it’s a fvcking movie 8 Likes |

crackhaus:In answering those questions, I'd have a reason to justify that massacre. We all know the kind of person cercei is as portrayed in the show right from season one. Drawing a comparison between cersei and Dany in this situation is outright madness. I thought Dany came to make a difference? I am not here to compare. All I'm saying is that nothing justifies that degree of massacre. crackhaus:Yes, my family members aren't in kingslanding, but that doesn't stop me from being human. |
