What is so difficult about building a dam that you cannot do it via direct labour. Is that how China developed. The bulk of the cost of dams is civil works (cement, sand, stones and steel rebar) and the turbines and generators can be bought off the shelf these days.

Judt trading our destinies. We are like a middle class family that employs a battalion of cooks, drivers and all manner of domestic help. The next generation will certainly live in penury simply because they will grow to know nothing and will inherit nothing having spent all on the comforts they should have avoided. After 60 yesrs of independence, tnere are certain things visionary leadership should be doing to get this country working for itself.

Such huge amount for 360MW. My company just finished construction of 2,520MW in Qatar at the cost of 2.4Billion USD.
