Travelling With An Unstamped Canadian Passport?? by vaselinegang: 6:14pm On May 15, 2019 |
I'm going to a boarding school in Canada in August, I live in Lagos, but I've been on the ground here since 2011 and I've had my Canadian passport renewed so it's unstamped. I've heard the staff at Murtala Mohammed harass people with unstamped passports, Is it just a thing with Nigerian passports? Should I have some money on me just in case? I haven't travelled since I was eight years old so there anything else I need to be prepared for, travelling alone? |

oluayebenz: It's a private school, I pay school fees but it's lower than non citizens. Isn't my old passport irrelevant?? I don't know I just don't want any trouble at the airport sha. |

oluayebenz: Public schools are definitely not better than private schools, I went to two government schools before I lived here and I was a complete dullard, they'd be teaching me how to do Origami paper folding instead of teaching me division and multiplication, when I applied for a Charter school (more funding than a public school but not as highly funded as a private school) over there, I could not answer a single maths question and my teachers didn't try to improve me one bit. The notion of public schools being better than private schools is so funny to me idk who told you that. Public schools totally depend on the wealth of the area the school is in, and even then you can't go to a school in a nice area if you don't live in that area. Anyways, the perception (emphasis on perception) over there, in America and all these countries is that private schools are better. Whether its true or not isn't cut-and-dry enough for it to be so farcical for a citizen to apply to a private school. There's a whole other side of Nigeria, man, most of the Canadian citizens in my school now are going to private schools in Canada next year and that's always been the trend. If I landed in a public school mehn I'd be ashamed of myself |

vaselinegang:You don't have any problems except you choose to create one and allow the criminals in uniform called immigration to collect egunje from you to eat suya and drink Big stout, carry both passport when going to the airport for your trip, if possible, you can also hold your Canadian birth certificate for further proof, be polite to the immigration officials and express yourself very well Don't give them room to ask for bribes because the demon of bribes lives at the airport and also lives inside immigration personnels looking for victims to extort, book your one way ticket to Canada via any airlines of your choice, go and study, engage yourself in volunteering activities in Canada, it will help you alot, I did same during my studentship as well, make your parents proud, good luck as you leave Nigeria the headquarters of poverty and the 6th most miserable country on earth to canada a land that will care for you better than Nigeria |
