I got 197 for agric science in unical.. do u think i stand a chance to get admitted ?? Please help me out

You can, depending on how well PUTME goes with you. UNICAL for the last two years had pegged the general cut off mark as 150. Hence, you're eligible to give a try.

Meanwhile, I think you ought to respect the objective of this forum. It's called "The Medical Students and Aspirants Thread", not a UTME help desk. You can go on Facebook: "MY UNICAL DREAMS" for matters like that.

Thanks.

Dear Cardiologist, I would also be graduating from Physiology at Ibadan this year. I would want to help you see your chances practically.

University of Ibadan pegged her merit cut-off mark at 76.5 last year. Let's use your score of 260 as a scenario to see what you needed to score at the last post utme.

260/8= 32.5

76.5 - 32.5= 44

44 X 2= 88 (What you would have needed to score in last year's post utme to be eligible for Medicine).

Calculators are not allowed.

Can you do it?

Can you beat the previous year's cut off mark by 2 or more?

Anything is possible my dear friend.

Ps: What University are you presently at?
Hi sir.
What are my chances of studying Nursing (or any nice medical course except physiology) in UI with a JAMB score of 246?

You can try ABU, or BUK with an aggregate of at least 280+

Ibadan's cut-off mark for Nursing was 68.125 last year. Hence, let's assume you applied to study Nursing last year with a score 246, below you would find your target postutme score.

246/8= 30.75

68.125 - 30.75= 37.375

37.375 X 2= 75 (Approx.).

Aim to score 80 in the postutme. Practice solving questions under simulated exam conditions without a calculator. Work on your timing and accuracy.

I wish you the very best Supreme3Leader.

Helo medics, medical students and fellow Aspirants I had just gotten my utme result, I'm from anambra state, used ATBU as 1st choice and FUD as 2nd. Am looking towards obtaining change of inst.form considering some factors; catchment area, competition, tuition fee, jamb score 281, and others. I have been considering UNIMAID, BUK, ATBU, UDUSOK and UI. Please i need help, advice, guidance and suggestions. Which of the unis do i have the 96+% of being admitted into MBBS. Any useful information is much well needed. Also which school can i apply medsurg for 2nd choice please

True, University of Ibadan used to use the O'level once upon a time for admission purposes during postutme registration. However, as time went by, they found out most students could not defend the results they tendered to the University. So, there you go. Why UI stopped considering O'levels.

That score is somewhat low to be candid. As you can see in here, guys with 270+ don't know their fate, how much more someone with 200.

See it this way, even if she does well at the postutme, the UTME result, her harbinger of doom, would drag her down. She's to be balanced at both ends, which isn't the case now apparently.

Tell her to give success a chance to happen, she could break Jamb's scale next year. There are many things to learn from failure. Failure isn't the end, it all depends on how you look at it.

As a matter of fact success in itself is a stupid thing if not for the possibility of failure.

Tell her even scars (215) are beautiful; she tried.

I wish her the very best.

No, with Oau. I don't even know any Federal School that accept two sittings. I'm not sure if state or private university does.

My sincere advice; why can't you write another olevel and hope for the best? Because, you want to study THE MOST COMPETITIVE COURSE IN THE UNIVERSITY. IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT WITH TWO RESULTS.

OVER TO protein0
You have said it all.
I don't know of 1 school accepting 2sittings for mbbs.

If mbbs is a must, she should try get another O level that's 1 sitting. kiss

thanks bro I scored 313 this year
there we go again still yet to make up my mind on choice of school
I will strongly advise you to change to Uniabuja with this your 313 if your Olevel is 1 sitting and not all C6
300+ is a sure ticket to mbbs there, no post Utme, just Olevel grading. In fact, you can resume before they release the list sef grin grin

I don't think there is another med school in the country where all lecturers right from 200-600L are mbbs holders except this school. Student to Cadaver ratio of as low as 5:1, Fully accredited with nice TH.

If your initial school of choice does putme early like dem ilorin or oou, do the post Utme there first, if it's not pure change to a late putme school, that's if it's still allowed. Just make sure you don't waste that score. Mbbs admission gets tougher yearly. You may not have the opportunity to shoot a Buffalo twice

Lol...Concerning LASU, i'd like to debunk that..i'm not a lagosian and i was admitted(currently in 200l, mbbs) and so was many other non Lagosians in my class, without long leg or whatsoever. Truly Lagosians hold the larger percentage of individuals in my class(55% or thereabout), but you certainly won't be denied admission if your grades were up to par... Concerning the someone who had 324, ask him how his o'lvl grades were..jamb is just 50% of a total 100, the rest to be obtained from your o'lvl, that's the admission modality LASU follows.
please,I'm a lasu aspirant also going for medicine. I'm a non indigene.
Please what was your aggregate score that enabled you to gain admission into MBBS without long leg.can I stand a chance of gaining admission with an aggregate of 73.25

You get to write the same subjects you wrote during the UTME.

Calculators are not allowed.

You would be stopped before the actual end of exam.

As regards Northern Universities, I would say either BUK or ATBU, Bauchi.

Tell your daughter nothing is impossible. It's the OAU(dubbed "Oba Awon Universities", which translates as King of Universities) she's applying to, she had better buckled up. I wish your daughter the very best. See my post above this, your daughter could apply to FUD, who knows?

Ps: MBBS(Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery) or MBChB(Medicinae Baccalaureus; Baccalaureus Chirurgiae) is a degree you get after studying Medicine and Surgery(Course of Study). Those are the variants of the degree awarded by Nigerian Universities, the former being English and the latter, Latin. OAU, OOU are examples of Universities that award the Latin variant.
