Started the day on a good note, Had my first trip inside lekki around 4:45am, fare #437, took my second trip from lekki to airport at 5am, Fare was #3700, drove to Maryland, got another trip to amuwo odofin, fare was #1500, got another trip to ikeja, was on trip when I entered the trap. There was serious traffic at fagbems, so I decided to turn back to use ago palace way. Did small one way of about 40m on that road beside fagbems and bam! Those guys just blocked me like a commando. Before I knew it I was at their office around first gate.
OC: Oga, because sey na we-we, go and bring #35000. If no be say na you, na #150000 you go pay.
I went outside, made some calls.
OC: Oga na your key be this?
Me: yes.
OC: but you go give them 3k for gate,
Me: No wahala.
Moral: don't be tempted, even if it is 2metres, it won't end well.
Las las, rider leave me find im way. Na me face am!
this happened to me at 2nd rainbow.was making a one way back to amuwo odofin when police officers with lastma started arresting cars. immediately I managed to change directions facing the right way ,but one of them spotted me and started approaching the car, that's when Jason Statham came to the rescue.the way I reversed marvelled me myself. the noise of the car got to them before the car itself, that's how they knew I was not bluffing ,and they flew out of the way. I did the perfect 180 and faced apple junction at a marvelous speed.when they recovered,I saw them taking pics, but at the speed and distance, they might as well be taking photos of the horizon. All this while, my crazy Indian rider was just shouting,"wow" "wow" and the okada men where hailing me seriously.it was a good day ,till I ended up at apapa traffic girdlock grin

I so hated Ikeja and it's environs that some times, I pay #200 toll to enter Ajao estate and get my island trip angry

Some drivers basically spend their days on Ikeja. Just switch on your app while changing positions. Maybe a nearby rider request fit catch you
Thanks my broda... Request don catch me ooooo. First request na still inside Magodo. 2nd request now dey use 15mins make up. I dey wait for her. I just hope say na Island she dey go. If na Akute I go just tell her to get off my car. Lol

No matter the kind of work you do, moreso driving like 12 hours daily, you need to take a break, re-evaluate and re-strategise.

Most people equate break with just sleeping and doing nothing, but that is not true. You always need to stay away from your daily hustle once in a while to see things objectively. Those who don't do this will fail to see what's coming.

Most importantly, put family first and always find time with them, no one goes to the grave with money. Myself was an apostle of working 24/7 till 2017 when I spent about 2 weeks at the hospital with a close family member that passed on.

The experience made me re-evaluate a lot of things. I stay off work for 21 days straight in a year and better for it too

If you drive for a living then you will know that driving isn't easy therefore you need to always take a break even if the car is urs or u are on rental especially if it's In a very unorganized and traffic laden city like Lagos. Dangote that you mentioned in ur post does he drive for a living? Driving is a very strenous work and it weakens the brain and gradually drains the body out. Even Chisco bus drivers take breaks how much more a ridesharing driver.. well, ur comments atimes make me want to believe that you are yet to understand this work irrespective of the fact that you own vehicles on the platform.

That's the problem, day dreaming. Talking about vessel of 300million, when you should be talking about buying another corolla. Now I see where you guys keep losing focus.

Na with shining teeth them take they do real estate

You will continue to loose focus. Acknowledge ur present situation and face life step by step.

Going by this your logic, you shouldn't have switched to uber. You should have just bought another pon-pon and trowel to give to another person to start work and be collecting rentage money.

A car owner who has never driven before has no Ehailing experience IMHO.

You don't need to be a mechanic to know that wrong use of oil will damage the car ... you don't need to go to college to be rich .. Common sense should apply in all these people we do .. You don't need to be a genius to knw that hybrid or electric cars will not work in the Nigerian environment...

You need to increase your budget then go for a Honda Civic like dru grin

You can do rental for a while and save diligently.

Or go for Hire Purchase but be careful because of terms and conditions.

Whatever you do be careful not to end up with a lemon lipsrsealed

Thanks so much. I will be going for a Nigerian Used Honda Civic and I hope and pray it serves me better.

Thanks for your contribution

To be honest most cars are good for the business if the owner is driving, where you have to take several things into consideration is if you're not driving and giving it out for rental.

600k Camry go pepper your eye oo..
I would advice you just find a favourable Hp agreement with what you have and you should be fine if you like driving and also know how to drive..
Remember that knowing how to move a car does not mean one knows how to drive..
Also do not make decisions out of desperation its never easy

On the long run in case anything goes wrong you can always liquidate and not loose so much..
I don't see myself buying any other brand asides Toyota cause of resale value and repairs

A business man should always learn to adapt to his business surroundings .. The cost of elantra is too high for me ,it will take me a longer period to recover my money from elantra than from a civic... I call easily buy two civics from the cost of an elantra, that is with a little bit of luck and 400k extra ... few weeks ago I had the chance to buy two civics 04 and 05 at a lovely price .. But didn't have the cash at hand. So those opportunity has come around me few times, but u have to look for it .. It will not land on your lap .. To be honest with you those hybrids are so cheap at the auction, don't nobody buys them.. People ran away from them .. An hybrid is an ideal and best option for me, but reality on ground will not let me try am .. Those that drive hybrid am sure are not telling you the risk factor..

My mum would say, put bitter-kola under your tongue, it worked for a while. There is also this drug my friend recommended, I take a pill before commencing a journey. Though I haven't had need to go long distance in a while.
