First n foremost..... when it calls for comparing stats between countries, u don't use an article from one of d countries, its better to use stats from a valid source like d IMF or United Nations or any body responsible for d necessary stats rather than an article from businessday.co.ke.

Secondly.... rvp is a prevaricator (I've known that since I can't remember). He said kenya ranked 2nd after SA while kenya is actually trailing 4 countries (according to d article) i decided not to respond to his claim but have to respond because he's already misleading people like u.

Finally.... u can't compare d wealth of nations by mere conversion of currencies.

That being said, many bodies in d continent have their own reports on wealth, n almost every report contradicts eachother. There's no single body that does a holistic report on wealth in africa. It's just a matter of bringing any source that suit ur intention.

There are lots of stats out there...what is not in dispute - Slums occupy 5% of Nairobi residential areas - and 1% of Nairobi Land mass. I am not sure how 1% of Nairobi landmass - all consisting of single units (not multi-storey) - can host 65% of the population. Those are just statistics that Nairobi NGOS use to peddle to attract donor funding. The same people who made Kibera the biggest slum - by claiming that 2Kms 2 of land hosted 1.5M people - improbable - when Census was done - the whole of Kibera Constituency (not just the slum) - had 190,000 people only - you can probably claim Kibera then had like 150,000 people.

As regard to Nigeria slum cities - that another ball game - it's like 95% are slums - and 5% is non-slum. As of now Kenyan slums enjoy 24hrs electricity and mostly all have running water. They are just built in illegal gov lands hence built of temporary structures for fear of eviction.
