This is the first time I'd be using a Xiaomi device(Redmi 3 Pro). It's cool and kind of odd when people ask you the kind of phone you Use and you say Xiaomi (most people do not know jack about it).
I just want we using this device regardless the model to meet here and share tips on how to get the best out of it eg. Rooting, unlocking, flashing, Upgrading, etc.

On Tuesday, I woke and realized that my Mi 6 device has been stolen through my window in an area I moved in recently. Though, I have gotten a Redmi Note 7 that I am managing now from Macbeyland, I really need advice and tips on possible way I could recover the device.

PS: I have not been able to track its location, it has been offline since them.

Why not laminate the receipt & move around with it too

The simple truth is the problem is most likely from Facebook and not your phone. Xiaomi have nothing to do with Facebook Apis. You should rather direct your complaint to Facebook, there is an avenue for that.

I also do this when I'm asked the price I got my redmi5plus(62k) but I always say 56k all the time. When people ask for the brand and I say "shaomi", they laughed which I always join them.

I think I'm comfortable with me alone knowing my phone capability and value.

Oh! so you think am loyal to Xiaomi thus my initial response? Not in the least.

Now think about this scenario. We've an almost 5k pages thread that has been running for 3 years plus & it just so happens that the of thousands of users, reviewers & critics non has observed that their FB friend user request count increased after using a Xiaomi device but just you? Haba!

With the recent privacy/leak issues Facebook has been having you think they'll leave such access to OEMs?

Personally I think your FB request spiked coz of Facebook's own in-house algorithm. Probably your recently added friends just linked you to more "people you may know" on other people's profile. Like someone already suggested earlier restrict the "who can send me friend request" option.
