Michael Aworosaiye Suicide: Doctor Who Tried To Rescue Minister Says CCTV Saved by Nazarethnaza: 4:01am On May 18, 2019 |
A Nigerian doctor who tried to rescue the gospel Minister, Michael Aworosaiye, who committed suicide, has revealed how a CCTV footage of the incident saved him from arrest. Dr. Daniel Eitokpah's brother who revealed that he was detained after the incident, had posted a series of videos on Wednesday, with a caption that read in part, “My brother, a medical doctor, along with two onlookers were detained for trying to help resuscitate a young man who committed suicide yesterday. The police have him held for no reason; they named them as suspects, and asked them to write statements without any reason for detaining them.” The doctor who was saved from arrest by the CCTV footage after he tried to rescue the gospel Minister who committed suicide, lived in Sunnyvale Estate and he reportedly graduated from Ternopil State Medical School, Ukraine in 2016 and completed his house job at the National Hospital, Abuja, is a National Youth Service Corps member. On being saved by the CCTV Footage, he noted that the DPO from the moment he appeared at the scene, kept addressing him in a demeaning manner. “We explained to the DPO everything that happened, how we heard a guy shouting for help and went there. I explained to him that I thought it was something that had just happened and tried to resuscitate him. I explained everything I did to him and his response was, ‘You are a doctor. You should know that you are not meant to tamper with the evidence.’ I tried to explain to him that the information we got was that the guy was in the act; if there was an iota of life in that guy, at least, we should give him a chance. “Shortly after, the commissioner of police came in and I heard the DPO telling the CP, ‘We have arrested three suspects.’ I felt that the statement meant a lot. The DPO, the CP, my father, my pastor and church members of the deceased went back to the scene of the suicide.“God just had it that there were CCTV cameras around the house. There was one directly facing the entrance of the boys’ quarters where the guy had hanged himself. That was our saving grace. It showed everything—how the suicide took place. Immediately they saw we were not guilty, they made a call to the police station to prepare for our release” https://unclesuru.com/2019/05/18/cctv-saved-me-from-arrest-doctor-who-tried-to-rescue-gospel-minister-that-committed-suicide/ 14 Likes 2 Shares

So it's the same doctor in this thread that made fp a few days back https://www.nairaland.com/5190017/doctor-arrested-trying-resuscitate-someone I'm glad he didn't get to suffer for a crime he knows nothing about, but it worries me that countless people must have been wrongfully convicted for crimes they're innocent of. 239 Likes 6 Shares |

If only there was no cctv installed... Thank God for the saving grace... I am very sure the Dr will think twice before trying to assist any other person next time... One of the main reason's people don't stop to assist accident victims is simply because of police wahalla.... God save us all 116 Likes 5 Shares |

Nigeria police will psychologically pronounce you instantly guilty until proven otherwise. Thank God there was CCTV, they would have ended up prosecuting the young doctor. Imagine if he wasn't even a doctor! Nigeria police needs continuous training. DPO is a big position in Nigeria police but you can see how his act showed lack of training. 85 Likes 6 Shares |

Illetrate policemen are not interested in saving lives but in evidence! Victims of gun shot wound must obtain police reports first before they can be treated! Why not treat and obtain report while the victims are recovering. In an organized society you dial 911! The medical, firefighters and police team will come over to save lives. Try that at your own peril in this country. How can we move forward when we keep doing things wrongly? Sadly enough, our lawmakers are not better off. They would spend four years in office with no meaningful bill passed. All we are interested in is money. Money in a cesspool is a waste. We need people who have it upstairs in leadership no matter how small the position is in this country.! 62 Likes 2 Shares |

It’s not just in Nigeria but other countries too. The good book says the days are evil. In Japan you will see a Japanese lying on the floor dying, yet fellow Japanese will completely ignore them and cross over to the other side of the road. The reason being that they are sometimes accused of being the culprit. Imagine what would have happened to this guy if there were no CCTV: he might be termed a murderer. In these uncertain times everyone needs Divine Wisdom to know how to act in every situation. 20 Likes 1 Share |

You should thank your God really well, if not, you for languish tire in that jail. In Nigeria, you are guilty and you only have to prove your innocence. I wonder how we can't employ intelligent beings into the force, lower academic leves will start to harass and intimidate somebody more educated that them because they have the cold iron with them. Only God knows how many innocent who had no cctcv saviour have followed this path.... Do you want to learn to get motivated, learn about skills and strategies in business or academics, or you want to learn from the likes of Lee Yuan Kew, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Thomas Sankara, Robert Kiyosaki, you need counseling and guidance to success in life, or you want to take an introvert or IQ test, then visit here 7 Likes 3 Shares |

As aptly captured above, just tell me how and why should you help a fellow human being when those trained and empowered by law are behaving in this disgusting manner. Without the CCTV, the helping doctor would have been in detention and if care is not taken he could be jailed or "rewarded" with irreversible punishment 5 Likes |
