The simple truth is the problem is most likely from Facebook and not your phone. Xiaomi have nothing to do with Facebook Apis. You should rather direct your complaint to Facebook, there is an avenue for that.

Personally I think your FB request spiked coz of Facebook's own in-house algorithm. Probably your recently added friends just linked you to more "people you may know" on other people's profile. Like someone already suggested earlier restrict the "who can send me friend request" option.

My Dad uses a RN7 and the last contract he tied down for his company that was the phone he was with. So it doesn't always work that way.
