I beg to disagree. It is common wisdom. If those wildfires were buried underground, they wouldn't have leaked out the way they did. Magma, Napalm or whatever it was Drogon was spitting isn't that powerful to burrow underground and cause a spark. I take my cue from reanimated Viserion who couldn't get past a stone to roast Jon. While we saw the strength of the Dragon in a new dimension in the recent episode, we very much know they don't have the strength to dig out the Wildfires from underground the city. The wildfire is highly flammable but that in itself isn't enough.

I saw the episode again yesterday and it was obvious the wildfires were stored in the buildings that was destroyed. If this was the case, then it makes no sense that residential buildings were locked up and used for wildfire havens during the Mad King's reign and remained that way decades later. There is no sense in it. It would have been discovered by anyone and alarm would have been raised.

I strongly believe Cersei planted them as traps around the city while the unfortunate people of the city were her last line of defense. Scorpions - Wildfires - Human shields. It is a well thought out strategy that never materialized all thanks to Dany's rage. Saying they were planted by the Mad King a long time ago only to burst into flames within buildings as depicted in the episode is unsellable.

Ok, my last point... I think Cersie's words came back to hunt her "power is power" . Power intoxicate and an emotional Dany was pushed to the wall after countless of failed advice by Her Hand. I blame Tyrion a lot in what transpired in that last episode (well let just say blood is thicker than water). Tyrion still loves her sister, and wanted her to escape. If I was Dany Tyrion should be stripped of his titles with immediate effect and sent to the wall . (Oh there's no more wall)

Well We can all debate all year whether it was a good call for dany to roast kings landing but many people in her shoes would have done worse considering the circumstances she has faced.

Trust me a catlyn stark would have done the same if Arya or sansa was the one beheaded in her presence, if she had the army and dragon Dany possessed. Dany had lost all her confidants and the ones close by are already showing various forms of mistrust an treachery...

Trying to justify what Daenerys did by comparing it with what Arya did just does not follow.

So when she revenged she was targeting the Freys by poisoning the wine they drank and particularly baking Freys 2 sons for him to eat. In the poisoning scenario if there was anyone there that was not in on the plan but died after taking the wine, we can describe that as collateral damage. She targeted the main people who killed her family and it was unfortunate that some innocents were there.
