Some of our leaders are naive and daft, especially El-Rufai. I understood Gov Akeredolu quite alright, what he meant was not to legalize marijuana for abuse, but to extract it for medicinal purposes which could be placed on regulation and control. Gov Akeredolu, don't mind them move with ur plans for we are behind u. 1 Like |

CoolAmbience: THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYTIME NIGERIA WILL BE READY FOR DEVELOPMENT. If we continue with our backward mentality ! Our pregnant women in Nigeria are desperate to give birth to their kids in Canada and USA just to have them gain citizenship of those countries. When Ben Murray Bruce called for the introduction of electric cars in Nigeria the same NIGERIA - NEVER - READY - ADVOCATE throw dirty words at him. WHEN WILL NIGERIA BE EVER READY ? But Nigeria is always ready to hijack NIGER DELTA CRUDE OIL they are never tired ! They share the money as federal allocation while Nigeria continue to remain in one place. NO JOBS FOR THE YOUTH ! NO ECONOMIC PROSPECT TO KEEP HOPES ALIVES IN NIGERIA ! God save us from wicked leaders in Nigeria ! 1 Like |

Nigeria is a useless country. Rather than embracing revenue generation opportunities, they are projecting their uselsss religious moralism that is based on hypocrisy. Hemp is a cash crop. So many things made from hemp like CBD oil, Haircare products, Hemp milk, Etc Small time they'll complain about being poor. Awon oloshi asinwin |

hisgrace090: Who will prevent its piracy into into illegal use? Are we going to create a new enforcement group for that or will it be enforced by the existing useless, corrupt law enforcement corps we have now? Akeredolu is an executive. Its not his task to source revenue....thats the job of his economic team. Lagos State is the only place well governed in Nigeria, followed by Osun. These two states know how to administer government, their executives delegate tasks to the responsible teams and make the whole administration efficient in deliverables. No Governor should be doing what Akeredolu just did, travelling to foreign countries to discuss trade. What is the use of his economic team? But this is the pattern across Nigeria except for Lagos and Osun. |

wink2015: All the scenarios you gave have nothing to do with my point. What percentage of our pregnant women think of Canada and the US as possible places of birth for their kids? Introduction of electric cars is way different from marijuana cultivation. It is incorrect to think that Nigeria and her goverment are averse to the introduction of electric cars. How are we able to own and use phones, laptops, gadgets etc, 24/7? Providing points of charging for such cars won't be so much issue at all, hence you cannot correlate that with marijuana cultivation. A good friend of mine is in the forefront of the introduction of solar-powered and electric cars in Nigeria. Sen. Ben Bruce is no authority in this area and I really do not know why you mentioned him. The Senator has bad loans running into billions of naira and I don't see how he has helped the system. About Niger Delta crude, what developments do the leaders of the Niger Delta have to show for the decades of derivation receipts given to them? Is crude oil Nigeria's only product? Are all the other products i.e. diamond, gold, limestone, cocoa, columbite, nickel, agri products etc, from the Niger Delta too? As for the youths, they have yet to discover themselves. That is a subject for another day. Aren't they the ones being used to perpetuate various electoral frauds, misgovernance and criminality across the country? |

CoolAmbience: You really dont live in Nigeria, and you are writing based on your own information ,you need to practically experience it to feel things here ,We have a faulty system, that has centralize and reduce creativity of people ,and that is just a fact we see on a daily bases. If the electric car bill have been allowed to pass,we will develop capacity and expertise before it is finally accepted.Regions must manage and develop at her own pace .Even if benbruce is owing ,we see what he has been able to do and invest in ,unlike people that took their own money to dubai and london. 1 Like |

Fresh marijuana is good dried marijuana can be dangerous for some people if eaten and smoking anything is dangerous including marijuana so what's the fuss all about. Marijuana is not dangerous only human beings are because we manipulate natural things consume consumables in there natural state and feel alright. legalize weed in Nigeria making it illegal is pointless all people need is awareness and education. |

The mistake he made was that: He made it PUBLIC. An important & sensitive project like this should never be made known to the masses. All those voting against the PROJECT are the real ignorant folks. A religious nation like ours, will always decide any ISSUE through the lens of Religion. It's a fact. And this heinous ACT is constitutin a great barrier to our progress. And to think that there are many educated folks (PROFESSORS, DOCTORS) voting against this, is beyond pathetic. https://www.nairaland.com/5029767/seven-7-reasons-start-taking 1 Like 1 Share

olas24u: How do you mean that I don't leave in Nigeria? I have lived in all regions of Nigeria and travel often across the country. If you know anything about Nigeria, you would know that there has never been a shortage of creative individuals in the country. Have you visited any of the innovation hubs in the country? Have you been a part of any of the rapidly growing entrepreneurial / ideas' challenge in the country? Do you know how much, in several hundred million dollars, young, creative Nigerians and their startups have raised, either as grants, seed capital or equity investments, over the past five years? Do you know how much 'hurt' taking billions in commercial bank loan and not paying back does to the economy? Isn't that what led to the closure of several banks in Nigeria over the decades? Have you analyzed the implications of that in terms of job creation and the economy? Having the regions manage their resources will never be the solution to Nigeria's problems, especially when you think of it in isolation. Were the regions not managing their resources between 1960 and 1966? How then was there a civil war? Without discipline, patriotism and accountability, regionalism will only just lead to 'allocating and confining' the present crop of irresponsible, corrupt and financially reckless leaders to their respective regions. As for electric cars, it is more like a whirlwind. At the right time, it will reach Nigeria. I don't think that, that is the biggest priority area for capacity development, there so many other areas we can optimize to address skills shortages and unemployment, on a massive scale. |

hisgrace090:Don't mind the dummies in government. This is what you get when governance is peopled by ignorant politicians whose only motivation is to loot the petrodollar. Canada is making billions from medical marijuana and the hypocrites will gladly receive grants and loans from the marijuana revenues from Canada but won't legalise it's cultivation in Nigeria. 1 Like |
